New 3 Round Mock at NFL Draft Countdown

    http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html

    Here are the Jets Picks:
    1. D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia
    1. Bobby Carpenter, OLB, OSU
    2. Nick Mangold, OC, OSU
    3. Ryan O'Callaghan, OT, Cal

I know we need an OL, but I doubt we take two OT's in the first 3 rounds, in addition to an OC. I'd love to get Carpenter, Mangold and a top OT in the first day.

I would like it but give me, Hawk then Maroney in the first to make it better, but I would still be extremely happy on draft day with this

    I like aspects of it.

I would be ecstatic if we were able to draft D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold because our OL would be solid for many, many years.

I would hate it if we drafted Bobby Carpenter. First, I just have a feeling that he is going to be a bust and that his stats and abilities were largely inflated playing on such a good Ohio State defense. Second, I think Manny Lawson is going to be a much, much better fit for our OLB pass rushing position than Carpenter ever will be. Finally, if we pass on Laurence Maroney to take Bobby Carpenter I might cry.

I would also hate it if we draft two OT in the first three rounds when we need some kind of Offensive playmaker, Secondary help and some DLine depth.

    Rambo,

Some good points. I disagree on Carpenter being a bust. IMO, he's an athletic, versatile, smart, high-motor guy and they rarely fail. However, I agree that Lawson might be a better pick for us. BUT, I don't see how Lawson falls to even 29, and that is one major problem I have with this mock. I could see Lawson going as high as 12 overall, instead of Wimbley in their mock.

I do think that we should aim to get 1 of Wimbley, Lawson, Carpenter, as I feel they are the top 3 3-4 OLB prospects and will all be solid at very least.

I agree on your point of not taking 2 OT's on the first day.

I'm suprised there are no screams of outrage at New England getting DeAngelo Williams at 21

    3 of our TOP 4 picks on O-Line? I really don't like this. I don't even like Carpenter much either. I could understand D'Brickashaw, I just don't understand O'Callaghan. 2 OT's in the first 3 rounds; that is overdoing it. Let's get a CB, a LB / DE, OT, & a RB.

I dont want this. Brick at four is not properly utilizing our picks I feel. Some say this is the deepest OL draft in recent memory so why would we take the four spoton an OL. I want Mario the OL OL with the next two picks. We shouldbe able to grab two guys at 29 and 25 who can contribute immediately

I would like to see either D'Brick or cutler at #4
if we take D'brick we should take lawson instead of carpenter and a CB instead of O'callaghan( sorry for spelling). We do not need 2 tackles in the first 3 Rounds. D'Brick and Jones can handle the tackles.

If we take Cutler at 4 then we use the 29 on lawson, 35 on mangold, and 3rd on O'callaghan and the other 3rd on a CB. This way we could get a franchise QB and use Jones on the left side where hes more comfortable and O'callghan at right tackle

That is a good draft. I think i Jones puts on some wieght and wieghs 310 he will be are RT and we would draft O'Callaghan just in case he couldnt he couldnt play RT as good as he could play LT.

Mangold and DBrick would be sweet. Kendall goes back to guard, and the line is set for a while.

I agree, not sold on Carpentar, would rather see Ryans. I dont think that Maroney will be there at 29. We would have a better shot at White @29
