frankly, i think all of you just condemming goodell are being incredibly harsh. keep in mind this is a guy who got his start with the JETS organization. This article just doesnt mean that he knew since 2000, but simply that bellicheck told him he did it since 2000. It does not seem like much of a coverup when the league takes away a first and hundreds of thousands of dollars. Yes, its cheating, but honestly outside of the rams superbowl incident I cant see how it can change the outcome of the games THAT much, and this is from a jets fan in school in boston living in a frathouse full of ignorant pats fan idiots. Theres one thing i know, it was damn sweet to watch the patriots lose the superbowl and 45 drunk patriots fans miserable while a hammered JEts fan wearing a curtis martin jersey had the time of his life.
I can't tell how serious you are with that statement, but I said I'd be "shocked" instead of saying "this definitively proves the tapes don't exist" because there is always the chance that they did. The Patriots and BB might be dumb enough to come out with defiant statements saying "Those tapes do not fucking exist!" while knowing that they actually do, but I'm betting that they aren't.
It would be very Clemens-esque, at least. I don't think they're that dumb either. But unfortunately for them (and you), there is a third rail for this train: What if Walsh says he made the tape, left it with his employers, who turned it over to the NFL, who destroyed it because they needed more closet space. Might explain why BB and Pioli are so comfortable being adamant about it, and they are lying.
