FITM i mean you want to call me troll for posting a gay picture of jose reyes and then you go and make the dumbest thread ever. if you feel that the mets are better then the yankees then by all means thats your opinion but to say that have taken a step down and that their rotation is terrible then your an idiot. your right i guess have two #1 pitching prospects and a top 30 pitching prospect instead of tyler clippard, kei igawa, jeff karstens and chase wright would be taking a step backwards.
you want to talk shit about a abreu and glorify a guy whos going to hit .280/25/80 when abreu this last season his .283/16/101 after a horrific start. good argument.
i mean come on man call me a troll for posting a funny picture of a player all you want but you obviously have no idea what your talking about. so keep talking about the '04 collapse or steroids or the budget and keep using those played out excuses. well see you in october.

Everything else being equal....thats why you have to take the team with the "dominant" pitcher. The Mets will squash the Yankees in 7 game series. The Yankees blew it big time by passing on Santana. Thats why Vegas picks Boston number 1, and the Mets number 2 to win the World Series. If the Yankees signed Santana, they were easily number one pick to win the World Series by the "people" and Vegas.

melky, damon, matsui, abreu > church, alou, beltran, chavez.

    posada > schnider

    everything else seems fair.

For the love of god, will you people freaking relax with that shit. Santana hasn't even thrown a pitch for guys yet. The Mets were picked pretty highly last year too early of. How did that work for you? If everyone stays healthy, the Mets will do fine,as will the Yankees. But please can that we will squash you crap. When did that last happen? Oh yeah, never.

Actually I was the one who called you a troll but I already said what I thought of this thread....

It was made simply to get a reaction out of the Yankee fans and it certainly did that. There is no validity to this thread. I like FITM but threads like this are done simply to piss people off.

this is true. what i meant i was being called by mets fans and then this thread was made. and you are also right when this was simply made to cause a reaction when i read this thread i simply should have ignored it. i apologize for the misunderstanding though.

BELTRAN > melky, damon , matsui, abreu COMBINED.

Beltran will hit 40 home runs. Possibly more than those four Yankees combined. AND be a gold glove candidate. Damon and Matsui are DONE. They should be thinking about retirement.

This might be the most homer-tastic line I've ever heard. And that's saying something seeing as how I live in Southie... Homer Central for Red Sox Nation.

    Career OPS+:

    Beltran - 116

    Matsui - 125
    Abreu - 134
    Damon - 102
    Melky - 90

Not that I'd put money on it, but there's at least a fair chance that either Matsui or Abreu could outperform Beltran on their own... never mind combined.

Oh wait, I forgot. Someone anointed JoeJet the scryer of the 2008 season, and he knows all. That's how he came across these definitive predictions.

That might be the dumbest thing ever posted...... if Mastui stays healthy his offensive production shouldn't be too far off Beltran's. Melky is one of the best young OFs in the game and Abreu has proven in the past he is a solid player. Damon I'll give you, he should be thinking about retirement......

On paper this year the Mets are the best
Based on results, Yankees still own this shit

    Lets see after this year.

when alou is healthy he is way better then damon, beltran is better then all of them and abreu is still a solid player.

Also i really dont see what the big deal is about Melky, he is average at best, maybe better then Endy but still average.

If Both outfields are healthy IMO the mets have an advantage.

If Melky payed for any other team he'd be a decent, if not spectacular, outfielder. But since he plays for the legendary YANKEES he's the *MELK MAN* an almost superhuman .270 hitter with a 9.8 VORP

nah we know what he brings, acceptable offense in the bottom of the order and above average defense. you however, bust a nut when you trade for ryan church, who is almost identical offensively, has inferior defense, but 6 years older....
