    Yea, so this is more of a madden Defense, but wut the hell, im bored, if you don't like it or think its pointless, then oh well...

    D-Line-DE-Robertson-move him to the outside, let him lose some weight
    DE-Ellis
    DT- Haynesworth if he is available
    Also playing around with leaving DROB at nose and gettin another DE in here would be cool also, probably more likely

    LB-OLB-Vilma- Move him to the outside and let him use his speed to blitz
    OLB-Suggs-Again, if he is available
    MLB-Harris
    MLB-Lauranitis-If he comes out, great attitude to have on this D
    If not Lauranitis, then move Vilma back to MLB and get Gholston for the outside...or another possibility is moving ELLIS to the outside like Mangini was toying with at the end of the season...

    Secondary S-Rhodes
    S-Justin Miller-I think he could be a huge hitter
    CB-Asante--pay for him
    CB-Revis

    I'll play along too. Here is what I would like to see. Laurinitis is not coming out this year and Suggs will probably be franchised... But here are my draft and FA upgrades for this offseason...

    DE = Robertson / Coleman
    NT = Pouha / Red Bryant
    DE = Sedrick Ellis / Shaun Ellis

    OLB = Vilma
    OLB = Thomas / Cliff Avril
    MLB = Harris
    MLB = Hobson / Barton

    S = Rhodes
    S = Elam
    CB = Revis
    CB = Asante Samuel

    I doubt you will get flamed, but I think Vilma would get man-handled by the tackles just as well as he does with the guards.

    Was this today? Wow...just wow.

    1. Lauranitis IS staying in school.
    2. Suggs will get the tag, or he'll go to Arizona for BIG bucks.
    3. Vilma would smoke more cock at OLB than he does at ILB in the 3-4.
    4. Haynesworth is going to get tagged.
    5. Justin Miller can't even figure out how to play corner consistantly...why would the coaching staff move him to safety?
    6. I don't like it, and think it's pointless, but oh well...

    Samuel is a realistic signing, Gholston is a realistic possibility through the draft, but Suggs, Lauranitis, and Haynesworth? Come on man...do some research, and find out if the players are even going to be available before you use them in a "Dream D".

    I'll play along too.

    DE: Haloti Ngata
    NT: Vince Wilfork would rotate with Casey Hampton
    DE: Richard Seymour
    OLB: Terrell Suggs
    ILB: David "The Hitman" Harris
    ILB: Terry Tate: Office Linebacker
    OLB: Julius Peppers
    CB: Asante Samuel
    CB: 1994 Deion Sanders
    S: Ed Reed
    S: Kerry Rhodes

    One question, why create a thread if you think you are going to get flamed?

    Honestly this isn't that bad of a D but there's a couple of problems...

    First, Kenyon Coleman has to fit into this picture... he was good last year and his contract commands that he plays. Same goes for Bryan Thomas, though I would much rather Thomas sit then Coleman.

    I think Samuel at CB is a waste. I would rather the Jets use their 2nd round pick on a high quality, high value player such as Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (if he is still around) or someone of that caliber... combined with Miller, Dyson, and Poteat... the Jets should be OK at CB next year.

    Vilma will be back at ILB unless the Jets trade him. I think it is more reasonable that they try him at SS rather than OLB... he would get devoured on the outside even worse than he is on the inside... you need bigger LBs to play OLB in the 3-4. If Suggs were available... that would be a top flight signing.

    Ha...I was gonna use Mangini as my nose tackle, because he was supposedly pretty nasty in college. No joke.

    He lead D3 in sacks. But anyways, here's my D:

    DE:Ellis
    NT: Pouha
    DE: Robertson

    OLB: Gholston
    ILB:Vilma
    ILB: Harris
    OLB: Thomas

    CB: Revis
    CB: Miller(im telling you next year is his year, dont spend on Samuel when we're clearly more than 1 player away)
    S: Elam
    S: Rhodes

    So basically, I don't think we're too far away. Our secondary is all very young and WILL develop-Samuel is the second most overrated CB in the league-outside of Nate Clemments. Our ILB's are also young and are set for years, keep Vilma. And Pouha, with another offseason of conditioning, can certainly be a solid NT.

    miller has been given enough chances. he CANNOT play anything except special teams. with the emergence of washington, i think we use him as trade bait

    Trades don't get done in the NFL, and he has ZERO trade value. And i'll also tell you that almost any skill player in the NFL can return kicks with good blocking, and more importantly a good system. Without Westhoff, don't look for any big returns next year.

    how many teams are gonna risk thier skill players returning kicks. if it's true what your saying, every team would have awesome return guys. you can't tell me we can't package him in some deal at the draft, for an additional late rounder. we need bodies. i'd rather have the pick

    Penny...you D looks pretty good, its good to see alot of people agree DROB would be good as a DE...if you guys remember tho, Ellis ws playin some OLB at the end of the season, don't know if that might factor in...all I can say tho, is I really wish that Bryan Thomas was not resigned, he really is'nt very good at all and it sucks that we are basically going to be forced to watch him play...as for corner...I would love Samuel...I don't know how you can say he is overrated, the dude is clutch and nasty...as for Miller, I can't believe that you guys wouldnt like to see him try safety...the guy can hit...

    DE: Dewayne Robertson because I know nothing about football and think a 6'1 3-technique can play 3-4 end.
    NT: E. Honda from street fighter
    DE: Sedrick Ellis (same reason as d-rob)
    OLB: Terrell Suggs
    ILB: David Harris
    ILB: Brad Kassell
    OLB: Jared Allen
    CB: Asante Samuel
    CB: Hank Poteat
    S: Leon Washington, He played some DB in high school
    S: Kerry Rhodes

    DE: Eric Mangini
    NT: John Madden
    DE: Mike Holmgren
    LOLB: Al Davis (Bringin' the crazy!)
    LILB: Skip Bayless
    RILB: Sean Salisbury
    ROLB: Mike Tomlin
    CB: Cam Cameron
    S: Mike Westhoff (You want big hits? How about with a cane, baby? Yeah!)
    S: Bart Starr (One of the best QBs of all time. Can't be too bad at Safety.)
    CB: Herm Edwards

    Only part of your plan that I could see is moving Miller to Safety which I think would be a great move it's easier to play than corner and Miller's main problem is that he's dumb as shit, he's got great physical ability a move to safety would be wise. Haynesworth is NOT a 34NT. Also, OLBs in the 34 are typically the size of rush ends (6'2+ 250+ pounds), I'm positive Vilma would be horrible at 34 OLB. Suggs will be franchised and Lauranitis is staying in school.

    Something realistic that I'd like to see is the signing of Asante Samuel, draft Gholston at #6 and grab an NT in rounds 2 or 3. Maybe have room under the cap for one good olineman I believe there are a bunch of solid guards available this year but I guess were talkin D...

    DE: Coleman, Robertson
    NT: Draft pick, Pouha, Robertson
    DE: Ellis, Later round pick
    OLB: Gholston, Hobson
    ILB: Harris, Kassell
    ILB: Vilma, Barton
    OLB: Thomas, Hobson
    CB: Samuel, Poteat
    FS: Rhodes, Smith
    SS: Smith, Miller
    CB: Revis, Barrett

    That D is money.. I fully believe that adding Samuel, Gholston and an NT coupled with more man coverage and blitzing will give us a devastating D. Revis and Samuel can both play man coverage all day long. But I will say I don't like Sutton at DC.

    Dude, didn't you start this god awful thread? I thought Justin Miller was going to be our new safety? Bryan Thomas was pretty good in 2006 at OLB.
