No one has heard anything. Former Raven's coach Frank Ganz Jr is still available. He did a good job in Baltimore

I think that this probably isn't the biggest priority on the coaching staff's list simply because Westhoff wants to come back when he is healthy in a year or so. I think they will probably just promote from within

Has this been definitely established? I speculated on this several weeks ago and someone else said no, they thought Westhoff's departure was final.

Have you read somewhere that this is his intention and that the Jets are okay with this? Please furnish a source if so (if you can and can remember where you heard it), because this is a good way to go, IMO. I LOVE what Westhoff brings to the table, even if he were to be sitting in a wheelchair from the sidelines.

I could have sworn that at the last game when Mangini annouced the news about Westhoff, he said that he was going to remain with the team, and they would have to "make up" a postion for him.

I think I heard in some newspapers, but I also read it in PFW whispers section. Remember he is leaving because of medical issues, not because he was ready to leave football.

When asked I recall Westoff commenting that he has to focus on his health this coming year and the football would not be his top priority. He is having a metal rod inserted to replace his femur and recoup would be 6+ months BEFORE a true rehad program could begin.

I think as someone posted earlier we will promote from within....and leave the job open for his return next year. At best Westoff might be a consuiltant this coming year...

I watched the last Game Press Conference again. Mangini's quote was "He will still be a member of the family, he just wont be with us every day". Then someone asked him a question about his role and said "We really haven't defined anything yet, but we will work it out."

I think that if Westhoff comes back out of retirement it will be for Miami. He spent a lot of his pro career there.

Westhoff is staying on indefinitely as a part time consultant. And there is absolutely no time table for his return, if ever. He needs to be replaced.
