1. Dyson was our best corner by far last year, when he was signed. 2. Coleman was mediocre, but an upgrade. 3. Bowens kicked ass when he was on the field. 3. LOL @ your "obvious" things being seen with the eyes of hindsight. He should have seen the "obvious" that his second round QB would have the lowest pass rating of yada yada? 4. True...I can't deny that we are a disgrace on MANY levels using hindsight. My god...why couldn't we just pay that old, mediocre, whiny G an extra million so he'd pretend to be happy playing for us? What a bunch of bitches our front office is...standing their ground at such a young age. Who do they think they are anyway? Then they go out and don't sign the best players ever like the Pats (now Giants) did. It's ridiculous.
Again...true. My arguments are no where near as well thought out or thorough as yours. My arguments can be found in the million other threads I've replied to this same issue on...enjoy reading them but until then:
That is saying nothing. The other corners were David Barrett and Hank Poteat. Yeah Mediocre. Compared to the Giants who have about 6 guys who are better than any J Dlinemen because their GM isn't an incompetent accountant who has no idea how to evaluate players. Too bad he never played. He didn't "kick ass" He was the best OLB in a crop of miserable OLB's How about not drafting a midget QB in the 2nd round? Hindsight? GM's shouldn't be judged on how the players they draft preform? How does that make any kind of sense. The Oline was awful WITH kendall. Without him it was a laughing stock. They needed to do MUCH more than bring back kendall. They were too stupid to realize how horrible the oline was EVEN WITH kendall and even if they did they were too cheap to go do something about it (even though tons of olinemen were FA's last year.) They let 3 players start 16 games (clement, moore and whatever garbage was at LG that game) who wouldn't be starting for appy state. That million was sure worth it. Why not give our garbage RG another contract extension?
You can post as many funny pictures as you want. You still have no point and are just making excuses for the inept front office.
Actually it says that he was a good signing. I realize with your powers of hindsight that it looks bad, but it wasn't. True...I mean the Giants have only been building that D-line for a good part of the 2000's...compared to Tanny having...2 whole offseasons. But besides that thats a REALLY good point. I mean shit...ignore that he's got us young standouts and potential elites at LT, C, ILB, CB, and KR...he's had TWO years and he hasn't acquired AT LEAST 6 pass rushers like the Giants? WTF the fucking NEEEEEEEEEEERD. Still a good, productive, smart signing. Yes. Hindsight. Yes, GM's should be judged on how the players they draft perform. No, that judgment should not be made 8 games into said players career as a starter. Eh. It was average or slightly worse. And that leads to the question...so whats the big deal with his loss? I guess this is your answer...all offered in hindsight. Without him it was a laughing stock, so they should have went back in time and handed one of those 50 million dollar guards a 50 million dollar contract...makes sense. 1. Get off of 2007. Whining about 2007 is just whining about 2007. It's not crying about the present season anymore. 2007 is done with. We had no shot at winning the Super Bowl. We wouldn't have had one with Kendall on the team. Why would our young coach and GM want to hand over a million extra dollars to a player who was both declining and annoying as fuck? Because we would have been slightly less shitty? Whoop dee fuckin doo. 2. Moore doesn't suck. He was probably the most consistent lineman we had all season, and our second best one overall. But of course, with your level of skill in talent evaluation I have no idea why I'm even bothering.....
Why is judging moves based on how well the players played hindsight? Thats like being the tallest midget. You're still a midget. And he's brought in exactly 0 good linemen on the defensive side... Harris Revis and Mangold are all very high ceiling players and as i've said he's brought in a few good players... But he's brought in much more crap. The BIG DEAL is that they didn't improve the line at all no matter if kendall was here or not. Thats the big deal. All those Olinemen who signed big contracts worked out for the teams that signed them. Leonard Davis was the unsung MVP of the cowboys season. The jets are too cheap. thats a fact. This Gm took a 10-6 playoff team and WITH NO MAJOR INJURIES tuned into into a 4-12 joke. That doesn't bother you? This team is making ZERO progress. If you think moore is good you've either never seen a good guard play or you're related to him. he's AWFUL.
I Highly doubt it Woody johnson is as motivated as shit on a thursday morning... Where Doomed... Giants only win we always Lose... I Say we sign Two Tier Five free agents that do absolutely shit for us. We never spend big money on play makers so all hope is gone in that department but for some reason Tangini knowns how to Draft some good talent.
Yawn... another Woody Johnson is cheap thread? Who on Earth would we have signed last year that would have made us any better. You don't spend money for the sake fo spending money. What's next, a thread bitching about how we could have been in the Super bowl this year if only we had retained an NFL average guard in Pete Kendall for a contract extension that kept him around long past his usefulness? The draft can't get here soon enough. -X-
Any one of about 10 FA players none of whom the jets even made an offer too. Johnson is one of the worst owners in the NFL.
Re-read that and ask yourself if it makes sense. And Dyson was a good player for us who got hurt. True....all those good 3-4 DLmen available such as....??? Like I said before, send in your app. dude because I'd certainly hire such a sure minded, hungry GM. Good thing he's spent so much money on that "crap" too right? Why are they crap btw? Because the team didn't win a Super Bowl? They drafted 3 OL men in their first 2 drafts...TF are you talking about? TWO of the three were first rounders. Scientific fact. I mean, if we had signed Steinbach or Davis, we'd be as good as the Cowboys or Browns were this year. We were this close and that NERD ruined it. True...I mean it's not like that 10-6 team overachieved and had a cake schedule with 8 of their 10 wins against such powerhouses as the '06 Titans, Raiders, Lions, Packers, Texans, Vikings, and Dolphins. No. It doesn't bother me because we weren't and aren't a quick fix. It bothers me alot more than there are people ignorant enough to think we were some great team after '06. This one is way too thorough and accurate for me to reply to. Thats one hell of an argument.
free agency is a good compliment to building through the draft, not a replcement for it.i say, identify our biggest area of need, o and d line in my opinion, and get one of the top fa's at that position. then sign a couple of second tier fa's at other areas of need, while drafting guys we can develope over the next few seasons. lets face it, most of our starting linemen on both sides of the ball, are not as good as the backups on other teams. we need to get some good players on this team. maybe our scouting dept. needs to be looked at.
Tannenbaum has done a great job in the draft. Harris, Revis, Mangold, Leon. The jury is still out on D'Brickashaw maybe Bill Callahan helps him become the player we thought we were getting. FREE AGENCY is where the Jets have come up short. Hopefully that changes this offseason.
Plaxico Burress, Antonio Pierce, Kareem Mckenzie. Kawika Mitchell did a nice job for them this season. They still had enough money in the vault to re-sign Osi, Shockey and Tuck.
In my estimation our current problem is picking free agents. Tannenbaum has totally sucked at this, especially this year when we had only 4 picks in the draft and really only 2 were drafted to help us immediatley. Draft has been real good for the last 2 years. The Woody thing, I do not get. Having extra cap space is how you manage the team for the future. We are not cheap like the Eagles. Other then being a Republican aristocrat, which is on a personal level, I am very happy with him as an owner. Do you have any idea how much money he wasted on the West Side stadium. The question is does Mangini and Tannenbaum have what it takes to get this thing turned around.
