I know this has been brought up before, but it has been made public that the Bills just want a 4th round pick. Given the inconsistency of J Mac, why not take a shot of having Coles and Moulds, with J Mac/Jerricho in the slot...

    Thoughts?

I'd do it in a second for a 4th, Moulds would be a great #2, our WR corp needs another weapon, Moulds would really help us out.

Yeah, but then we have to pay him & we're gonna need a lot of scratch to sign all those picks we got comin'. Moulds won't come cheap.

I hope we do go after him. He would come at a high price, but he will definitaly help the recieving corps.

    Mouldy

Moulds did not see eye-to-eye with the previous Bills regime, even getting suspended for a game during the 2005 season. His numbers have dropped in recent years and he has an absurdly high cap figure of $10.85 million. The team asked him to take a pay cut, and he refused. The team planned on releasing him and moving on. But the new CBA changes things, and the team could theoretically keep Moulds under the new, higher cap. But why would they want to? And why would we want him?

Moulds? agent, told the Buffalo News that "We believe Eric is a top-10 talent at his position and he should be paid that way." One question, who is this guy trying to fool? Football Outsiders has ranked Moulds as a below-average receiver for three straight seasons. Moulds is way down, ranked 56th in DPAR (Defense-adjusted Points Above Replacement) out of 89 receivers thrown at least 40 passes. Moulds is no longer the best receiver on his team, let alone one of the top 10 in the entire NFL or even the AFC. For fun, here?s a list of 10 AFC receivers who are clearly better than Moulds, in random order: Hines Ward, Marvin Harrison, Deion Branch, Chad Johnson, Rod Smith, Randy Moss, Chris Chambers, Reggie Wayne, Eddie Kennison, and teammate Lee Evans.
Could he be a decent #2? Perhaps. But I'd rather go with a younger player

We can give him herms fourth rounder but i doubt they would trade in their division.

yep im agreeing with him..........his cap hit would not reflect his production. not to mention.....

I believe Cotchery has been snuffed for playing time already and should see alot more time. I'd like to see him compete with J-Mac for #2 to be honest. Maybe McCareins isnt as good as we thought or maybe the "battling injury" thesis is completely right. Either way Cotchery should be in the mix and we could easily seek a younger more worthwhile receiver than Moulds through draft or FA next yr.

If Jets can afford to pay Moulds and their draft picks then definately do it for a 4th round pick

I'm with you. Cotchery deserves more PT and he should be able to compete for the #2 slot. We'll find out if JMac's injury issues were real or not come September.
