Those are some great stats, why do you think he isn't projected to go higher in the draft?

That's pretty damn impressive. I have no problem drafting a guy like him in Round 2 or 3...

But don't tell that to the Patriots... Those fools have been starting a life-long backup for the last 5 years! Ha! Idiots!

Back on subject... I think Croyle is the best option at QB in this draft. This is because value-wise, I think he will turn out the best. Leinart or Young or Cutler may very well be as good or better than him as pros, but they will take a top 5 pick. Croyle can easily be gotten in the 2nd round, possibly the 3rd. Mark my words, this guy, barring injury, will be a VERY GOOD QB in the NFL...

    Drew Olsen #14
    Quarterback
    UCLA
    Ht: 6'3
    Wt: 225

Strenghts: Ideal size for an NFL quarterback. Very smart player. Accurate passer. Very experienced against top level competition.

Weaknesses: Lacks mobility; is confined to the pocket. Only average arm strength. Has some injury concerns.

Comments: Coming of huge senior campaign where he threw for 34 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions. Tore is ACL and MCL at end of junior season but showed no signs of lingering problems this past season.

Olsen is a sixth round pick. Maybe seventh. His Croyle without the arm strength. Looking for a late round gem? The kid from Furman. Draft Daddy has liked him for a while now. Ingle Martin. Whitehurst had a good senior bowl, but was pretty erratic in college. Croyle would be my pick as a second round QB, but I doubt he slides to the thirs. I can easilly see Miami taking him in the second round, but at 2.4, he's a jump.

A QB won't likely be picked on Day 1. But maybe a developmental guy can be picked late. I like Paul Pinegar from Fresno State, Erik Meyer from Eastern Washington, Ingle Martin from Furman and Drew Olsen from UCLA.

if the jets were to make a choice between brodie croyle and omar jacobs.it would be omar jacobs.croyle is too small and fragile.omar jacobs has all the tools to be a great q.b. in the nfl.his only flaw is his delivery which can be corrected with good coaching.he has the height the weight, and accuracy, plus a live arm.you can bet that there are many teams interested in drafting him.

Better passing efficiency than Leinart, and more arm strength and size. I got to see him in person this year against the U of A, and although they got hammered, he has a good arm, and is calm under pressure. Arizona's running game was SICK!!! I have been talking about this guy for a few months now. I think he would be a good pick in the fourth round or so.

Eh, come on. Croyle, Vick and Shockley all have simliarly ridiculous numbers. Stats is the worst way to judge college talent.

During the first half of the USC vs. UCLA game, Drew Olsen actually looked better than Leinart. USC would have been behind if Bush didn't gain 247 yrds. in the first half.

Exactly! Like I said, it was similar against Arizona. He has a strong arm and good size.

I have been saying it for the past couple of months now, I would love to see the Jets take Croyle in the second round. Yes, it's an expensive pick to give, but from what I have seen of him, he has the tools.

I know there are people who don't think things like the senior challenge are anything to concern yourself with, but in the distance competition, Croyle threw not only the longest two passes, but accurate as well. One of Young's passes went almost as far, but was about 10 yards off to the right. No one else was even close to Croyle's distance.

I don't know much about Jacobs and Olsen, but I have heard good things about both.

Whitehurst looked pretty good at the senior challenge too, but I wouldn't say he blew me away. He will be a solid backup in the NFL, but we already have Bollinger. Whitehurst might make sense for Miami.

remember that John Elway, Joe Montana, Dan Marino were not high draft picks and they all ended up being hall of famers. I'm not saying that we shouldn't take leinart, but it won't be the end of the world if we take a qb in the second or third round. History has shown us that the best qb's aren't always the ones that were projected/taken higher in the draft. *cough* Ryan Leaf
