I don't think Sutton wiil be back as the DC. He may be on the staff but not the DC. Mangini did a similiar thing with Denny Marcin. Rex Ryan is a possibility even though the Ravens will try to retain him. Normally coaches move on when they are bypassed for the HC. There has been some mention of him in Miami but I believe Parcells will name Todd Bowles. I think the NE coaching staff needs to be watched. BB would never let a coach go the Jets but if a coach's contract is up, he is fair game. That's what happened with Brian Daboll. Maybe Pepper Johnson's contract is up and Mangini will make a move. I think Rob Ryan to the Jet's is dead.

I hope you are right about Rex Ryan, and Woody Johnson should pay him whatever it takes to make him the DC.

The Sutton situation needs to be resolved asap. A new D/C will need time to evaluate the players and start to build a defense that was pathetic at the start this past year. Tangini must be waiting on someone to become available.

I would love Rex Ryan, he would be able to utilize Vilma and do great things with our defense, wow would that make my off-season

I agree Rex Ryan is a great DC, but if you think about it long term, Rex Ryan is getting looked at for Head Coaching positions right now and it is only a matter of time before he gets a Head Coach position. It would be nice to see the Jets get a young Defensive Coordinator that makes his name with the Jets, and him and Mangini ride that success together. Personally, I wonder if the Steelers have any bright young assistants? Because I love the way Dick LeBeau runs his defense.

I agree, but Ron Rivera was in the same situation and now he is less than a DC, anything can happen, hell I would let go of Mangini and take Ryan as my head coach, even though that is extremely unrealistic

I really wish we can get Rex Ryan...Hopefully Falcons drop the ball and don't hire this guy...if that happens we should do whatever it takes to get him here IMO.

I agree Rex is the better of the two Ryans, and it would make for a great thing for our defense. Even if he is only around for a year, and moves onto be a HC after next season. And the chances we find an up and coming kid who is ready to become a DC and makes a name with us, is statistically unlikely...

unlike 1972, when weeb was replaced by charlie winner, his son-in-law.

buddy ryan was the jet defensive guru in the 69 super bowl. his dream job was to be the jets head coach.

who was the jet president ? - steve gutman! the same guy bellichick once said " no one has ever done more talking and won less than steve gutman"

based on history, don't be surprised if they miss the boat on this ryan also.
