I don't care if he's the 2nd coming of Tomlinson, fact is you could trade down at least 5 spots and get him, so taking him at 4, paying him more, and not getting extra picks would be idiotic. Fact is there's very few teams that are looking for a RB, DA could go to the Browns at 12 but if not could easily last until 17, you take a guy like that at 4 and you're a joke.

I dont want him I think that we need to get role players this year and get a RB next if Houston doesnt work out but i think that Houston will be a good or even great back if he has a good line. And if he was going to be as good as Tomlinson then we might want to take him at #4 im sure the 15 teams that pass up on Jerry Rice are really glad that they didnt take a guy because he didnt play at the right school and go to title game. Thanks for the I am a joke part I was scare that everyone here wanted to hold hands and dance around in circle and tell everyone how special they were.

the EARLIEST I would take him would be at Oakland's #7 in a trade down--but I like him--to be our STARTER in 06.

Wow everyone has already given up on Houston, I thought that he did good enough at the end of last year to see if he could be the starting back for the next eight to ten years. If he turns out to be a bust we can get a back next year, its not like we have a chance in hell of getting Bush so why would we not wait one year

Nope, I haven't given up on Houston--I think Houston and Williams/White should be our 2 backs for the next several years. Martin is too damn old and like Chrebet should have hung it up (not popular on this board I know). Blaylock is the not the answer and was another Birdbrain Boobway error/bad contract. I would love to see the jets get a rb in round 1, pair him with Houston and then our rebuilding could take flight. Why waste another year on Curits Martin--he's NOT the future and his father Herman Edwrads and Terry Boobway are FINALLY out?

I would like to see the Jets get other back but not this year and not White. Houston is a powerback we dont need two in the back field at once.

Probably the earliest Williams will be drafted is 21 by the Patriots but his stock has been following he might even be around at our 35th pick.

DeAngelo at #4 is over-paying the talent rating. The guys in the FO will not do it.

If we drop down to 6 thru 10 and he is there, it is a consideration.

De Angelo at 4 is way high. For some reason I think he will be the 4th RB taken. Where they are taken doesnt mean how they will do...but thats where I think he will be taken.

RB's can be found anywhere and alot of them start as rookies. RB is not really a main need.

How many starting RB's are 1st rnders?
I bet its half the league. 14?

Actually his draft stock is on the rise. A sub 4.4 40 will do that. There is no chance he is there at pick 35. You must be joking

No shot DA is there at 35. Also,no shot Jets take him at 4. That's an insane reach when we could get Maroney/Addai at #29 for less money. My humble prediction,if the Jets keep the 4 pick,is 50% Mario Williams,25% D'Brick, 25% Cutler.

It depends on who you listen to. Some reports timed him at 4.42 with the wind and 4.48 against the wind. Many teams do not view Williams as a 3 down back and his stock has dropped signifigantly in the last month. In many peoples eyes he is a bottom third of the 1st to early second round draft pick. The same thing has happened to Lendale White but for different reasons. Most likely one of the two if not both of them will be there at 29 and even possibly at 35.

Plus Maroney has passed D Williams since he can block better(once agian depends on whose reports you read)

but teams that needed RB's must have known something since they didnt wait for these guys. remember we all thought Zona, Minny, and Balt were going to get a RB in the 1st rnd. SF was a thought but no RB should be picked at #6. I think there are 4 RB's with 1st rnd grades but teams with luxury will end up picking them before we have a shot.

Plus RB might be one of the most overated positons int he draft.

You are right, this would be a huge reach.

I can only think of 1 reach that would be bigger... Cutler.

I can think of a lot more that would be bigger........for example Marcus Vick at #4. And about 1,000 more players. In fact, there are only a few that would be less of a reach than Cutler/

    j/k:wink:

Damm when I thought rajensen088's mom was the biggest reach I was wrong. She is the lady that plays Terrell Davis's mom in the commercial. Yep the best FB or blocker anywhere.

I'd jump for joy if we picked him at #4, but there is a much better chance of us trying to trade down to get him. Either way works for me, as long as he is a jet.
