I'm currently making a mock draft and I am completely torn in half at who we should pick at 35.

    The choices are

    1) Gabe Watson- fills a major need at NT and is good value at the 35 pick

    OR

    2) Ryan O'Callghan- pure run mauling RT that fits our needs perfectly. If I don't make this pick then we're going to have a huge question mark at RT next season.

The draft so far has been: 4) Mario Williams and 29) Nick Mangold.

I am leaning towards O'Callaghan because if we don't take him we'd have have to shove some crappy guy in at RT next season or miraculously sign a June cut guy.

Take it from a die hard Michigan guy, jets will not be happy with Gabe. This guy was basically in the dog house his entire career. No motor at all, and by all accounts that is not the kind of guy mangini is looking for.

Normally I'd take Watson, but since you took Mario at #4, I'd stay away from another DL. If we don't feel D-Rob can handle the NT job, wait until the 3rd or 4th and grab a guy like Oshiwondo. I guess you go with O'Callaghan, but I might go in another direction, since I think he would be a reach at #35.

Great post! We do not need nor will want these types of players. The same can be said about Haloti Ngata who everyone knows has problems motivating himself to give it his all on every down.

Not much of a reach though as I've seen him flying up everyone's draft board because he's the true RT that some teams need... and really he's the only true RT in this entire draft. Guys like Scott and McNeill would play well there but a guy like O'Callaghan could dominate there.

He COULD dominate there, but he needs to stay healthy and develop his technique instead of relying solely on his power.

Guard could be a nice pick at # 35. Even if Gilles is gone Davin Joseph and Charles Spencer are nicee players. There should also be a lot of talent at CB or S as well.

Well with the drafting of Mangold already if we drafted a guard that would give us 4 interior lineman that could start and only 1 tackle. Not a very good idea in my mind... but a DB is a possibility. We really need to overhaul the line with 29 and 35 though...

You should go in a totally different direction. You have addressed olb/de and also addressed the center position, wait until later to snag another o lineman. Go with the BA Wr or a cornerback.

I like O'Callghan, if we could get him the second round that would be awesome.

Since gabe would be long gone. Ryan O'Callghan. But he is moving up the draft charts pretty fast.

I'd go for O'Callaghan if we don't sign a RT, I don't think we need Watson because even though we need a NT we have D-Rob who was drafted to be one with Kimo next to him to help him out, and we drafted Pouha in the third round last year who's big enough to be a NT. So definetly O'Callaghan, RT is a much bigger need than NT right now.

No, he really needs to just give a shit about playing and stop being so lazy. He's a tremendous talent, but he is lazy and will never succeed because of it, until his attitude changes. He only showed up during the Senior Bowl because it could benefit him in the form of dollar signs. Once he gets paid, he'll stop caring.
