Quinn isn't costing Cleveland anything to keep him. Why not have a viable backup and let him learn the league for a few years. It's not a bad thing to have a good backup qb.

You're right, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Because it it really was the OL's fault, and our OL gave the Jets' QB as much time as someone like Brady has, then Pennington would still be starting and you wouldn't have seen KC at all.

But it's not the line's fault when it's Pennington, is it?

I'd rather see the Jets draft a true, blue-chip Qb and let the competition work itself out in TC. Pennington probably will be moving on and if KC isn't the goods, with our high DP, I'd like to see them draft a Matt Ryan (big body, big arm) Qb that's played in our area of the country. Knowing the Jet's luck, he'll be gone anyway by the time we draft.

What QB would you draft this year that is better than Quinn anyway!? And at what price? 1st round pick?? If you would trade Vilma for a first round pick, why not trade him for Quinn??

I really like the idea of acquiring Quinn for Vilma and a 4th rounder or something. He's a guy with a lot of potential, and since Derek Anderson came out of nowhere for Cleveland we could realistically get him. I still want to see what Clemens can do in the future with a better team around him, but assuming he'll be good is insane. And I really don't want to wait 2-3 years to find out he's a bust. We should get some insurance now, and since Vilma's on his way out anyway why not use him to land Quinn?

I would definitely trade Vilma for Quinn. If they don't want Vilma, I'd probably also trade our 2nd rounder for Quinn. I think he's better than KC & better than any QB in this year's draft. I think KC has the potential to be a solid, middle of the pack QB. I think Quinn has the potential to be better. Having 2 young, promising QBs is not a bad thing. One or the other may not pan out, and you don't want to realize 2-3 years from now that you need to draft another QB to groom, because KC didn't develop as we all hoped he would, and is next in a long line of Oregon QB busts.

Why does everyone just assume Vilma is "on his way out"? There's been zero indication of that, and actually, more support has been given to the side that says he is coming back to play ILB next to Harris next year.

And why is everyone so in love with Quinn? Anyone notice him waiting an awfully long time for his name to be called on draft day? Scouts obviously weren't as impressed with him as many people here seem to be.

I would rather the Jets brought in a great OL and QB coach to evaluate what we have before making a move to Quinn. I have no faith in the Jets OL coach or Shot to make the determination of what needs to be done and I certainly don't trust Tannenbaum or Bradway to evaluate the QB's in this draft Clemens or Quinn.

i think there?s no chance that vilma will resign here, and he becomes a FA next year. And since we?re obviously not competeing next year, we have to try to trade him and get some value.

I could see the "Quinn better than Clemens" threads in no time.

THERE IS NO WAY, NO HOW, THEY are trading him.

Think about it. They just traded their 1st rounder for this upcoming draft to get Dallas' pick and get him.

So, let's say they trade for the Jets #2.

So they actually moved DOWN for what? NOTHING.

Can you make us a deal for Braylon Edwards too?

Umm, why wouldn't Vilma resign? He's given no indication that he's unhappy. That's my point, this is incredibly speculative, and not based on any factual evidence.

Exactly.... If we could land Quinn for 2nd and something small thrown in, I'd jump on it, but I don't like the idea of trading a player who's proven himself, for one who hasn't....

Brady had the same Oline that Bledsoe had and came in and performed well from the off. At this moment , KC isn't at the same point where Brady was when he became a starter.

It wasn't a bad line, Bledsoe just wasn't performing well.....

Brady was more accurate than Clemens is now when he first came in, but, again, he had more time, and he wasn't asked to do much at all....

If you remember, Brady pretty much 'managed the game' all the way to the Super Bowl. Even some Pats fans and media types were calling for Bledsoe to be re-instated as the starter, after the playoff game vs Pittsburgh.

Brady may have won the Super Bowl his first season as a starter, but to imply that he was a world beater that year is ridiculous... He was clutch, as he always has and always will be, but he was not one third the quarterback he is now....

I'm not buying that. There's a reason he fell so far in the draft last year. Until he proves me wrong, I don't see Quinn as being that good.

He?s obiously better in a 43 than in a 34, that means his value is higher for a 43 team, and such a team should be willing to pay him more $$$ than we are willing to do. And if he wants to get back to the probowl and be a dominant player in this league, he has to play in a 43.

And with the fact, that it doesn?t look like he?ll get a Ring anytime soon if he stays here, i don?t see any reason for him to resign.

And the hole injury thing was pretty strange, i think we put him on IR as soon as our season was over, that he can get the surgery done during the season and he is able to do a physical before the draft, which would make it much easier to shop him.

you?re right, this is all speculation, but from his point of view, i can?t see any reason that he would like to stay here.

NOOO. another unproven qb no way. Lets give Clemens a year first. And keep Vilma. Imagine Harris and Vilma in the middle of a 3-4 it would awesome. Draft the kid that Harris use to play with in Michigan and put hit at outside linebacker then we would be 3 out of our 4 linebackers would be complete for years to come.
