There is also a rumor out there that Herm Edwards may be fired. So, only one of these things could happen, not both.

Besides, I really don't see how any GM outside of Isiah Thomas would make a trade like that.

Guys who address our needs however.....You guys want pass and run rush and both guys will provide more than that.

Mangini will seriously consider dealing Coles when you take into account with Coles questioning Mangini in the summer and maybe doubting him during the locker room. Not saying Coles does this but I dont know what goes on backstage.

Both guys are often hurt though, and to get more youth is great. We can take a WR in round 2, maybe a Limas Sweed who is huge which will make Brian Schottenheimer giggle considering the fadeaway throws in the endzone they often do.

If this Happens they better use one of the top picks for a QB as Clemens is not the answer.

I dont see it happening but would be fine with it.

There's no way this deal could be true. I just can't believe it, it's WAY too slanted. WAY, WAY, WAY too slanted. I can't imagine anyone at all liking this deal for KC.

 A first rounder and a possible 4th for a WR contemplating retirement and a QB who can't throw a football over 15 yards. HA!

Just like Vilma to the Redskins last year for the 6th overall pick. The season is not over and we already have false rumors.

I think whoever started this rumor was high on crack. Neither are worth a first and a 4th or are they combined. Remember it was Peterson who screwed us out of a 2nd for Hermie. I doubt he feels like doing penance now.

I'm not against this trade at all, nor do I think it's unbelievable. This is for a few reasons:

    1. Herm is in love with Chad and Coles.

    2. It's really pathetic to see Chad on the sideline practicing with Tuiasasoppo. He's not a backup, he's a starter... just not a good fit for the Jets.

    3. This would mirror the Patriots as far as rebuilding goes. We need to get rid of players who have no impact as long as their trade value is high, and get picks for them.

What could we do with those picks? Rebuild the offensive and defensive lines. Once we solidify our lines, we'll be set. We have a good QB, great RBs, decent receiver corps, and up and coming LBs and DBs.

Let's face it, we're far from a few players before we become contenders again. Think about it for a second. We have another player whose trade value is pretty damn high... Vilma. Think about the rebuilding we can do with whatever we get for Chad, Coles, and Vilma.

You either rebuild or compete in the NFL. You can't do both.

He may be but he has 0 control of anything that team does.

I'm pretty sure he can convince the Chiefs to go for a deal like that. It's not that crazy, and actually makes sense for them. They're not rebuilding, and could definitely use a couple of instant-impact players, albeit in their 30s.

Not a chance this is happening... but it would be a great chance to move Coles though. I love the guy but I can't see him having many more productive seasons with the beating he takes. With the talent the patriots have, it will take a lot more than a couple of linemen to overtake them and have a shot at the SB in the next couple of years. We need to take a chance and bring in new guys and hope they develop into something good. A high first round pick would be a start...

One way this might be a possibility is if they are talking next years 1st round pick. If you believe that Penny and Coles make you a 10-12 win team that 1st round pick isn't nearly as valuable.

Thats a question to consider - would you still do the deal if it was next years 1st?

    I would.

This is one of the most ridiculous rumors of all time. Yeah I'm sure two teams that dont even know if their coaches are coming back have not only spoken but have agreed to a trade of this magnitude with three games left in the season. Even better is that the Chiefs are giving a top 10 pick plus a 4th rounder.

Unfortunately for us, only the Patriots get this lucky to find a team that completely clueless..

I think proposing this trade would cost Edwards his job coming off the season that he's had.

Are you serious? What college QB is worthy of a top ten selection this year? How can you say Clemens isn't the answer after a hand full of games and no training camp? Do you realize how much money a top ten QB is worth?

I don't think we'll take a Qb in the first round this year but there look to be at least two QBs if not three that look to be worthy of a top 10 choice. It is always risky to pass on potential franchise Qbs when you get the chance. This regime has already passed on 3 of them for Clemens. If they pass on a couple more Clemens better be the real deal or he will cost them their jobs.

Just visited Chief's Planet. They tend to agree... This is judged as a bad trade from the Chiefs fan perspective. Most of their fans are looking for big changes in the organization and a youth movement for the players.
