Call it a hunch, but even if they do win out, I believe their days of winning by 20+ points are over. From what they showed against the Eagles, and just the fact that teams are starting to "crack the code" is going to lead to much closer games IMO. The way to capitalize on this in my mind is to start wagering against the Pats. This week they are giving 20.5 points to Baltimore in an away game. Seems like a good place to start.
I think a big part of Philly hanging with NE was simply that NE had no way to cover Westbrook... Not a lot of teams have a threat as versatile as Westbrook, so if teams are going to try and follow the Eagles' lead, they're going to have to get creative....
I doubt it. There's still an outside chance they could lose one the remaining regular season games, but I do believe that they will win most by 14+ points.
Just look at who they are playing in the next few weeks... aside from Steelers they have nothing but scrub teams on the forecast.
I think the Philly game was an aberration...Philly played GREAT, and the Pats played poorly. Westbrook was contained pretty well, but the Pats couldn't stop AJ from making plays to the receivers, even with a decent pass rush and Westbrook taken out of most plays. My hat's off to the Eagles. I think you will see The Pats blowing out the Ravens this week. The Ravens suck, and have little offense. Having said that, I don't care if they are blowing people out or not, so long as they clinch home field throughout the playoffs, the rest is just fluff.
I know they looked like the entire cast of Scrubs last week, but I wouldn't categorize the Giants as a scrub team. Especially since they may be playing for a playoff spot that game, while NE is looking ahead to the playoffs (and the loss of their draft pick) bwahah.
Philly WR's made some great grabs that night and Feely kept putting the ball right where it needed to be (most of the time). It was an inspired performance by their offense without a doubt. Philly's defense also did a great job of shutting out Moss for the most part. It is just so difficult though because they have so many options at WR. Brady certainly got a good pounding that night though. Good to see him get his friggin' jersey dirty for a change.
I think the threat of Westbrook opened up the middle, with the LBs following Westbrook's every move... That's what seemed to open up all those seam routes to the TEs..... Just my opinion... Luckily for the Pats (and unluckily for everyone else) there are very few RB dual threats like Westbrook in the league, and none as good as him.... I'd be surprised if the Pats don't win out, and win big in most of the games
What a confusing game plan that was. I can't agree that the Patriots played poorly. I would, however, say that they were nearly outcoached (emphasis on "nearly" because, after all, they did win). On offense, they passed the ball 90% of the time and gave not a thought to establishing any sort of run such that play action would open up their playmakers down the field. They CHOSE to limit their offense to something one-dimensional, so it's no wonder that Welker underneath was the only thing open with any sort of regularity. Can't cover everyone all the time, and the Eagles, for their part, chose to give up short stuff to Welker. On defense, they CHOSE to give up everything intermediate in the middle of the field. I get the feeling they were counting on A.J. Feeley making mistakes; which, fortunate for them, happened at just the right time. But then, that mistake was made when Feeley broke from what was working. In a sense, counting on A.J. having a brain fart was a pretty good strategy. Strange game.
Sounds like a Jet fan trying to whistle past the grave yard. You're crazy if you don't think the Patriots will beat the Jets by at least 3 TD's. I thought the Colts had the game in the bag as I'm sure Eagles fans thought and look at the outcome. Don't take much from the Eagles game but lookout in the playoffs when more talented teams will be playing them.
I doubt it, at least for one more week. They still put up "only" 31 on the Eagles and that was because Brady was on the bench thanks to long Eagles drives. The Ravens are just god awful and what you'll see on Monday is the #1 Passing Offense on the field for the majority of game versus the highly overrated and 16th passing D. Ravens are absolutely no where near as good as the Eagles on offense, and they just don't have guys to do what Philly did defensively. Patriots 41 Ravens 6
 :rofl2:  :rofl2: How bad do you have to suck when Dolphin fans are calling you "god awful"??
Nope. the Patriots will go 19-0..get the first overall pick and Boston will stain the entire east coast in British to force their will upon everyone.
The Eagles played an admirable game. Feeley made some good throws and the receivers made some nice catches in tight coverage. I think the seam was a spot the eagles could exploit because the Pats had a linebacker or Harrison on Westbrook all night creating an opening. That said, if the refs don't call that phantom offensive interference penalty on Moss in the 3rd quarter, the Pats would have been up 31-21. BTW, the fg right after that they said missed was inside the upright. Maddena and Michael's computer graphic thingy that they showed after showed it. I thought that the Giants game would be a tough one, but I am starting to think the ship is gonna sink yet again in Giant-land. That's too bad, because they have some talent on that team.
Guess I'm not the only one with this hunch. Line has moved from 20.5 early in the week to 18.5 on gameday. I bet it will move farther as kickoff gets closer. I'm not saying that they won't win. I am saying they won't win by 20+. Glad I got my ticket in at 20.5. Hope some of you did the same.
