Obviously this offense was built around Chad as QB. The past 2 games have shown the Jets changed the D and kept the same O. The season is over, so why not be creative? Show what KC can do. Let him run the offense. Let him play to his strengths. He is from a pass happy offense in Oregon...so let him loose. I know the next posts coming will be about the o-line. But he had good protection in the Pitt game. Miami's D is not the Pitt D. And Dallas was a team possessed. Please, Mangini, Let Clemens loose!
Well, that flea flicker from a few weeks ago was pretty creative. I'd like to see a double reverse pass play.
the idea is to always keep em guessing what you are going to do, yet for some reason the jets just dont ever seem to do that. i dont know why because its been a couple different offensive coordinators and its the same old same old. granted we arent running a draw every 3rd and more than 6 but the overall understanding by the opposition hell by the fans of what is coming on the next play is scary.
i would like to see us open up the offense too, but i really dont know how much our recievers can do without coles. some people might think im overrating him but i really think our entire offense looks different when hes not out there. even cotchery said this on the jets website last week... "I can't explain how much Laveranues means to this offense," Cotchery said of his fellow WR, a gameday scratch due to his ankle injury suffered early vs. Pittsburgh. "On offense, a lot of attention is paid to him. You take away one of those options and the defense can pretty much do what it wants." ... and i think that is very easily seen when you watch our offense with and without him.
We just need to pass more on first down. Not all the time....it's just that sometimes Schott gets as predictable as Herm with first down running plays up the middle and neither our OL nor Jones is able to overcome that. We need more of a pass first to set up the run mentality, IMO.
I also think the key is Coles. With him out, the D just has to take Cotch away, Brad Smith and MacShittens are no danger for anyone in this league. I really like the Idea of trading for Ocho Cinco, if we can get him for Vilma, i?d do it in a second. Our O 2008 (let me dream a little bit) LT: Brick LG: Lilja C: Mangold RG: Moore RT: Starks QB: KC WR: Coles WR: Chad Johnson WR: Coth TE: Baker RB: Mcfadden now this would kick some ass. and it?s only 1 Trade, 2 FA signings, and 1 Draftee.
I don't believe this, sure some parts and plays are called and ran for certain QB's, but the if Shotty's entire offensive scheme is based on one player, then is worse than I thought. I just do not like the offensive scheme. I don't like the route combos and I don't like the blocking scheme. BTW, if the offense was tailored to Chad, why would we throw so many out patterns?
I honestly think it's the blocking scheme that's making our OL look so bad. Our OL may be undersized, but Denver is a great running team with smaller players.
The D gets that little bit better by having some ponts to defend and being off the field a bit more......
interesting, i'd like to see moves of the like this offseason anyway.... but i doubt it.......are these guys mangini types of people? (sarcasm toward our staff)
Yeah, every time he enters the game he either catches a pass, or he'll line up and run it himself or hand off. Maybe they're waiting for the Pats game to unleash that trick play
Is that sarcastic? I am sure you do are ill equipped for sarcasm... But to humor you... J-co Smith Baker and Leon
make it Cotch and Baker. And Cotch has been very quiet the last couple games. Smith and Leon are just not relieable targets.
