we should go for johan santana now, and explain to the twins that he is technically a free agent, they cant afford to keep him and they lose chances in getting something for him. twins should be making moves now, if they decide to keep him and make a playoff run fine, the twins with losing torii hunter are not a good enough team to win a world series, they should face facts, and the yankees should take advantage of this fact and get santana. give them some farm players we have a big history of good farm players we should be able to get him. throw in some money too, what the hell.
That's totally unrealistic. The Twins know they have a huge advantage when someone comes knocking for Santana. He's one of the best pitchers in the game. I'm sure they will trade him. They don't have enough talent overall to win the World Series. However, that doesn't mean they're going to give him up cheap, simply because there's a feeling they "have to", because they don't. Minny will probably wait until after the biggest names in free agency are gone, or wait until the trade deadline next season, and then rip off whoever decides Santana is critical to their team. You really need to stop thinking in terms of dumping our minor league talent for him though. There's no way we get him for less than either Hughes or Chamberlain, plus extra players. There's a chance we'd have to throw both of them in. We can't afford Santana. I'd love to have him, but he would cost us far too much.
yankees are getting johan santana, we give them phil hughes, melky cabrera and some farm kids and they will accept they are getting 2 cheap proven players and some young prospects they can mold. they cannot lose, no other baseball team can offer 2 players like melky and hughes caliber, also young and cheap, with some farm throw ins who are probably as good as any other farm players teams can offer. johan said it himself he is depressed in minnesota, they traded luis castillo to the mets for nothing then he got depressed. he wants to go to a winner, THE YANKEES. yankees are the favorites to land santana. you heard it here first.

well im glad the red sox did not get him, and boy is every body who is a hater love that i started this thread and the yanks did not get johan, get off my cock... the one main reason i wanted johan was so the red sox wont get him, at first i was yeah lets get him , we would be good but then when the redsucks entered i justed wanted for the redsucks not to get him.
