Bill Walsh once said that the 3 most important positions on a football team are Left Tackle, Quarterback and Right Defensive End, in that order. The Colts are missing two of those three pieces. Not to mention Marvin Harrison is out and will not be as effective when he returns, ditto Gonzales, Clark has been hurt, no Nose Tackle, Sanders will likely get hurt, etc. Shit happens. This is why it is extremely difficult to repeat in the NFL. Colts get bounced by the Wild-Card Jags in the first round. Steelers Pats for AFC Championship game and AFC best records.
yawn. there is no evidence that Harrison will not be as effective, and if it is your contention that Sanders will likely get hurt (though what is that based on), your entire post can easily be rebutted by saying any key player on any other team will also likely get hurt thus opening the door for the Colts. obviously this thread has no basis in logic and is just you rambling to try and convince yourself that it is true. unfortunately, the Colts will succeed or fail regardless of whether anyone thinks they will or not, so trying to rally the troops around your agenda so you yourself will actually believe it is irrelevant.
its novemberr 17th, chill out bro...harrison will come back and be effective, reggie wayne is playing like the the best receiver in the league (other than F*CKING RANDY MOSS, F*CK HIM)....even without freeney, the defense is MUCH improved from the past years...they still have tony dungy coaching this team right??? manning threw 6 picks, no clark, no harrison, no gonzalez...addai rushed for less than 60 yards and they STILL SHOULD HAVE WON LAST SUNDAY
I'd say this is quite the bold prediction and am inclined to disagree with you on the matter. The Colts are a solid team all around really. I suspect they may be the only team that can beat the Patriots.
First off, whoever made this thread needs to stop making new threads. What you wrote is not at all worthy of creating a new thread. You know I think I might have agreed with you last week, but now I'm not so sure. Bob Sanders showed last year that one impact player lost can make a huge difference with their presence/absence on the Colts defense. Freeney being gone will kill this team; their defense relies on speed and getting to the qb quickly ( a lot do but especially in this case) and without him they're gonna have to start bringing in more blitz packages and that cover 2 defense may not like quite so hot if the quarterback has time in the pocket. They'll be alright in the sense that they'll probably hold on to win their division and make something of a playoff run but without any D this Colts team is like those '03 and '04 teams that had insane offenses but no defense (except only a very good offense.)
