The Clevaland Browns recently gave center Jeff Faine permission to seek a trade. The whole side of my fathers family are Cleveland Browns fans, and i have been able to see this kid play alot, and he a solid O Lineman. I, for one, would love to see the Jets try and pick this kid up, he would be a great replacement for Kevin Mawae, and he's young which would fit rite in to our rebuilding scheme... Thoughts?
thats one hell of a draft.. i would be very happy if that played out. and start my 4h rd with WR Brandon Marshall.
get real ppl .. he was a 1st rnder, he is young and he is pretty decent ... the browns are not gonna settle anything less than a 2nd rnder for him
thats the thing though .. i would be happy for the jets to grab him but at wut price? .. are you willing to give up a 2nd rnder for him? .. a 3rd rnder i might say yea but the browns prolly wont settle for anything less than a 2nder
I'd give them our 3rd and the 4th from Herm. To me, its safer and cheaper than picking Mangold at 29 or 35.
he's undersized if mangini wants a similar offense to the pats, he'll want a bigger center than faine (faine sits around 290 all the time), plus there's a reason the browns went after the bigger and better bentley even though they had faine
If we could get Faine for a 2nd day pick I'd cool with it, but I wouldn't give up two picks, or any first-day pick. Way I see it, Kendall will be our center for the next 2-3 years, and he's got the tools to do the job. No point running out and spending valuable draft picks to get a center, which isn't exactly the toughest position to fill. OTOH, if we can get Faine for a 5th, that's worth it, but I doubt that his price is that low.
I would give a 4th for him. Keep kendall at guard, we dont have to take mangold and can get jean-gilles at 29
#75 Jacob Rogers | OT Roster: Full Name: Jacob Rogers Born: August 17, 1981 Oxnard, CA Height: 6-6 Weight: 305 lbs. Age: 24 Pos: OT Experience: 2 years College: USC Drafted: Year:2004 Round:2 Pick:20, Cowboys FANTASY Percent Owned: (Week +/-): NFL: 0.0% (0.0%) Avg. Draft Position: NFL: UD Profile Stats Splits Game Log News Scouting 2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 60 | Key Alert: YD Comment: Plays with good leverage, stays balanced and works hard to sustain blocks. Runs well for size, plays under control in space and generally gets the job done when asked to pull or trap. Takes good angles to downfield blocks, has good lateral mobility and can adjust to the moving target in space. Possesses adequate size and has the frame to add more bulk. Moves well laterally, shows sound footwork and can redirect inside after starting outside. However, Rogers isn't a physical drive blocker, he hasn't progressed as expected and there are some concerns about his ability to stay healthy. Lacks the lower body strength to consistently push the pile in the running game and massive two-gap defenders will give him problems.
Rogers has had medical issues his whole career, he nearly had to retire a few months after he was drafted.
