Samedi has it, sign some solid guys at the other CB spot like Randall Gay/ Dre' Bly which will be cheaper and would allow us to bring in Terrel Suggs as well. Can't say that would be a terrible offseason FA wise. Yeah our OL would be unfixed again, but there is the 2nd round for that...

I think between the Jets high pick, and Vilma, the Jets will have some collateral that they can cash in for volume picks. That doesn't mean they have to trade Vilma, but they should listen to offers.

If the Jets can draft 6 or 7 mid range players, and sign 3 or 4 solid, capable free agents, they would be vastly improved next year.

If they spend their cache on, say, 1 very high first rounder, and an Assante type big money free agent, they are investing a lot of money while leaving numerous holes on the team.

The weakest link theory...you need to have little or no weaknesses before you start building strengths.

I think Samuel would take too much money away from addressing our primary needs.

We need to fortify our foundation before we go after "Nice to Have's".

every cb gets beat once in a while. Im guessing you didnt see jennings "nuke" champ bailey AND dre bly on national TV? so what's ur point? Their still great corners. And Hall is one of the best and fastest at that position.

Yeah, it's not like Chad Johnson is a horrible WR. I hate it when people pull out one play here and then use that as a reason why a player is terrible. It's beyond silly.

what a great idea, considering our front office is going to wait around to find that big fat body and that pass rush we need. then maybe we can draft another one, maybe even move up to get him, so we can cover people for the 15 seconds each team gets when passing against us. this sounds like a mangini -tanny plan to me... superbowl here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can we please stop trying to be the Patriots cast-offs and start being the Jets?

I would not want D. Hall, that's all I meant. There are better - and cheaper - alternatives. He's an upgrade, sure, but we have bigger fish to fry. Plus he's been a headache for Falcs this year.

While we're at it, let's go to Japan and get their reigning Yokozuna (Sumo wrestling national grand champion) and put him in for our nose tackle. I figure at worst, putting a giant asian man who has trained his whole life to blast a giant man onto his ass would be better than what we do now.

Why can't anyone spell anymore? Good God, I know this is a Jets board, but Jason Taylor is one of the better known defensive players in the NFL. If you watch football, the players' names are constantly on screen, wheter it's on the back of their jersey, or on a stat graphic. It's not that hard to spell, especially when you see it over and over again.

and if you're actually serious about trading for Jason Taylor, you are either an bumbling idiot, or a little kid.

To be nice, Taylor is on the downside of his career, I thought it was ludarcris he won Defensive Player of the year last season and he is a crybaby, everytime we beat them he seems to start crying. Oh and the phins ain't trading within the division, and why would Taylor even want to come here anyways? We are currently are winning one more game than his Miami squad and it is stupid of you to think that if he wants out of Miami cuz they suck, he would want in here, because we suck just a little bit less...

If Suggs doesn't come here, why not fill two holes with Samuel and Taylor? Both would address needs on the defense.

I know nose tackle is the biggest position to fill, but there may not be free agents willing to play the position in a 3-4. I doubt Taylor would ever want to suit up for a team he has disliked for so long, but the possibility should at least be considered in the overall blueprint for improving this team.

He's going to command top dollar (when have we ever paid top dollar) and our secondary isn't even our most glaring weakness on D...horrible idea.
