2006 - The Jets were flying high. Exceeded expectations. Mangini was labeled Mangenius, Schotty was expected to land a head coaching position for his imaginative playcalling, and CP was comeback player of the year.

    Then reality set in.

Our 10 year circle of being perennial playoff contenders is now complete.

    10 year circle?

    1997- 9-7 (Contenders)
    1998- 12-4 (Contenders)
1999 8-8 (Contenders down the stretch and before season started)
    2000 9-7 (Contenders)
    2001 10-6 (Contenders)
    2002 9-7 (Contenders)
    2003 6-10 (Not contenders)
    2004 10-6 (Contenders)
    2005 4-12 (A Joke)
    2006 10-6 (Contenders)

Okay, I will agree with you the team was a contender the majority of the last 10 years. Good times.

What a surpise, knee jerk homer fans who have no patience. Since when have we ever had two drafts like the last two years? The media and fans labeled Mangini Mangenuis. It wasn't Mangini who labeled himself a genius. We had a cream puff schedule and got all the breaks. This year we can't catch a break, opposition have looked at the film and realize that our lines are awful. If you rush 5 chances are our QB is going down. If you run the ball 35 times a game against us your going to win. Even though our lines blow we have still been in every game.

I know it's crazy but I give our coaching staff some credit for giving us a chance to win every game. You can't blame them for all the dropped balls yesterday, you can't blame them for Leon Washington's awful fumble last week. You can't blame them for the dropped passes against Baltimore. You can't blame them for the Pennington 4th quarter picks that lost us the Bills and Giants games.

There are plenty of things you can second guess with the coaching staff, but if a handful of balls bounced a different way all of you are saying that Mangini is still a genius. I do think that Mangini and Shotty Jr. are still learning how to coach but I think we all knew they would have some growing pains.

Can you get excited about the future and players like Kellen Clemens, Leon Washington, Brad Smith, Jerrico Cotchery, Nick Mangold, Brick and even Brandon Moore has turned into a very solid offensive lineman. On defense they are building a defense around Harris, Revis and Rhodes. I also think Bryan Thomas will be a a solid 3-4 OLB when we have better players around him. I think Hobson has a future role at MLB when we find a real ROLB.

I'm just so sick of all the fans who have zero patience. I hope in 2 or 3 years when we have a superbowl contending team for 10 years that all of you pathetic fans find a new team to root for.

Whoa relax there, killer. Patience? You're talking patience? I don't think any Jet fan can ever be guilty of being impatient. I won't even go there, because you know exactly why.

Besides, this isn't the first time we've had a bunch of young players whom we could be confident in. Does that deter me as a Jet fan? Well, I'm still watching and rooting. That's all that counts.

I was merely stating the obvious that Jet fans are always given something to look forward to and, well, you know what happens.

I love my Jets. I haven't missed a game since '94, and I've held onto hope for most of those years.

Patience is our fan mantra and motto.

    It's all we have.

why hate the fans for speaking their side? maybe when this leadership is fired those should hope you are no longer a fan as well?
