Should we make Leon Washington the starter at halfback?

The Pats hurt the Skins with passes to the RBs last week. Maybe the Jets are planning to try the same thing.

Ugh No , TJ is our starter and a very good one... Washington is barely doing his job as our back up.

    ?

Leon is doing a fine job as to what he's been given to do, at least I think so.

Leon needs to learn how to pick up a blitz before he can be a starter, and that is vital in a starting RB

they should try putting TJ and Leon in the game at the same time. Or give them equal carries and keep opposing defenses guessing.

    You know, thunder and lightning.

I agree with you guys because I don't think Leon is big enough or a good enough blocker to play every down. TJ deserves a shot, too, and I think we know what we have in Leon.

...so he's going to have fumbling problems for the majority of his career?

    Washington's a 3rd down back, and that's what he's going to be.

He's a tough, hard-working player, but he doesn't have the size to carry the load. He rarely gets past the first defender that gets a hold of him - his strength is making guys miss, not breaking tackles/running between the tackles. He's been used on swings/screens and sometimes he breaks them for big gains, but a lot the time he gets tackled in the backfield or he picks up a small gain. Neon Leon is having a Pro-Bowl caliber year on special teams though, so he will always be able to contribute there and on passing 3rd downs for the Jets.

Leon is not an everydown back. He is a good 3rd down back, but he is no Warrick Dunn in his prime, which I didn't think was an everydown back. He needs to get the ball more is space where he can make guys miss.

Our running game has been a C because our O-line has been a D.

No, I think Jones stays as the starter. We need to start using the fb if we want to start running better, though.
