I'm with you. He has been made the scapegoat. How soon people forget that Chad when healthy has been one of the most successful Jet qbs. I am for the change at this point so we can see what we have in Clemens. But this year is NOT Chads fault. But this is what you get when you have a lot of fans that jumped on the wagon in 98 thinking they were getting a surefire winner.

Who can forget 2002, parts of 03 and 04 when Chad was healthy and one of the most successful Jets QB. Anyone scapegoating Chad for being a failure isn't watching. The guy simple isn't healthy as far as the NFL is concerned. He can't throw the ball anymore. He did a great job last year of covering it up against a lot of teams, he can't anymore and he knows it and we know it. This year is not Chad's fault but Chad isn't part of the solution for this team now or in the future, he simply isn't healthy and there is no indication that he will be in the future any better than he is now. The idea that he is a scapegoat is just wrong, he simply doesn't have the goods anymore.

I love how folks say you can't blame Chad, meanwhile, Chad is the one not throwing to his open man, instead opting to throw the ball behind the line of scrimmage to his RB, Chad being the one with ZERO pocket presence, who, instead of taking a sack or throwing the ball away, throws it into traffic and into the hands of a waiting defender, Chad, who opposing defenses have noted that as of late was very easily giving away his reads with his eyes and poor body positioning, Chad, who simply doesn't have the arm strength to lead this team, as opposing defenses know he can't throw consistent passes over 10 yards, so they stack the box and shut down the run/short passing game, forcing turnovers.

Right, I can see how Chad wouldn't be to blame for any of the above. It's alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the coaches' fault.

I put most of the blame on Shottenjunior. The offensive play calling has been absolutely terrible this season.

That being said, Chad's accuracy is not there either and the team's playoffs chances are completely gone so it's time for Clemens.

It kills me that the Penny era is over, he is my favorite jet of all time. But there are times that that I want somebody to throw the ball down the field.

You are not the only Chad supporter left, but what is the argument worth anymore. The second you bring up a valid point you will be told how you know nothing about football. I think it is time for a change in NY and for Chad. We have some long term problems that we have to take care of and until we do Chad will be bad in this offense. On the other hand, I think a change of scenary will revive Chad's fire and he will go on and compete and probably win a starting job next year somewhere else.

Yeah he hasnt cost us any games with his 5 fourth quarter picks and three blown ten point leads in the second half. Your going to tell me Chad wasnt a huge reason we lost to the Giants or Bills(1st time)? He mustered 3 points of offense last weekend. Im sorry he didnt do much too lose a lot of weeks but he didnt do much to win them either. He has been mediocre all season but people still want to see him continue to suck it up then get Clemens some snaps and game experience

Its like beating a dead horse. Again this isnt all Chad's fault. As for the poster who says "instead of taking a sack or throwing the ball away", if he did that the jets would be at 3 and 20 every time. Do i think he left men open down the field yes i see it from where i sit. He didnt lose the gaints, eagles or bengals game but yes he didnt win them either. Look im all in favor of seeing what KC has to offer. But if any of you think this kid is gonna come on to the field and turn this team around and be the next montana, then you guys are smoking some good shit! Jets cant run the ball with the line they put on the field and im not gonna get into the defense. Im just waiting to see if KC fails how many people are gonna be calling for a QB to be drafted. When in fact its not the QB's fault. Many other issues that need to be address on this team and the QB isnt one of them.

I'm not entirely sure this is related. But I have a sinus infection, and my snot is the same shade of green as in the Jets uniforms.

Nope, he deserve shit for his poor decisions this season -- something is up with him. But he also deserves some props for his past accomplishments which the haters tried to tarnish in every post. The kid gave us some hope and respect when he was healthy and paying well. Making the playoffs is not something the Jets do often...

i love chad and my best wishes to him but he is the main reason why the offense was awful, he brought down the passing game and running game with him......every defense knows chad cant throw twenty yards consistantly so they stack the box....which makes the running game suffer.....the oline cant block 8 guys with 5 or 6(including a tightend) and chad doesnt trust his own arm thats why he would look off an open reciever deep for the check down or scat to jones or washington.....at least with clemens, hes got a solid arm which will make defenses take some guys out of the box to cover the field.....and the defense is another story
