i dont think we should waste a pick on a lineman ..im sure there thell be a nice LG in free agentsy..or trade for one..we have no use for Justin Macarins..so maybe a trade there?

I was actually thinking about that the other day...but then I was like oh yeahhh...remember that preseason game vs the Giants where he got DOMINATED on several plays...hopefully he has progressed and is ready to go

It's attitudes like that that get you into problems like the ones we have now.

Just read in another article that he's starting for Clarke this week. Clarke was dressed up early in his costume as a subway turnstile a week before Halloweeen.

    Run- it's CLEMENT, not CLEMENTS.

    Agreed.

This is a big reason why I'm happy to see Clemens (the QB) get his chance now. If he can show he was deserving of his draft position, then we can start thinking in terms of trading down and stockpiling picks. (And no, I don't mean someone should start a draft thread if Clemens comes out and storms the field Sunday.)

We need to get better on the lines, and if we can manage to fix the holes on both sides, I'm confident that enough talent exists on this team to make next year exciting.

Bender Puts us one guy away on the O/L.

Clement is in his tenth year, and if Bender can play, that gives the flexibility to go either Guard or RT, by the BPA.

(Though they do LIST Bender as a Tackle, so it will probably be one year inside, get acclimated, move outside....)

Frank Okam and Jason Shirley fix the other Line. DRob moves outside, then you are left needing a passrushing 3/4 OLB.

There we go. As I said, we're not that far from contending. I truly believe that, and I'm still sitting on the Darkside.

Trade down with who and for what? There is only one team that has two first round picks and that's Dallas. Right now their Cleveland pick is looking arond the middle of the pack and their own is close to the bottom. There won't be anybody to trade with unless we want picks in future years.

I think Alio's post assumes we are drafting Top 5 or somewhere thereabout..

In order to draft Okam, in the first, right now we'd have to be around 10-13, maybe lower...obviously you cant tell because needs change between now and Apri.

So if someone wants to leapfrog a couple spots....you could pick up a 3 or a 4....

Someone go out to the Offensive Lineman tree out back and pluck us a new Right Tackle. Good thing we got good weather this year and the crops are plentiful!

Yes, that was my assumption. Does anyone really truly believe we'll pick any lower than 8? I'm trying to be optimistic, but that doesn't imply delusional.

Hell, I'd love to wind up picking somewhere in the neighborhood of 15!

The only way we are picking lower than 8 is if we trade down.
