I do not care WHO WE DRAFT

Your Matt Birk example is weak, There are several drafted and undrafted O linemen. I get that. My bone of contention is not WHEN HE WAS DRAFTED or IF he was drafted.I am saying that if he has talent like most here believe WHY didnt he play when we had a poor season and when we had injuries on the line.Thats all i am saying. I want us to draft the best players possible, not names or anything like that. If we have a center on our roster capable of playing and is cheap, what makes you think i want to see us draft another.? I want to know why he didnt play any, and YOU obviously cannot answer that, and NEITHER can I.

Um....I did answer it. Over and over again. You're response is to ask the same question over and again :shit:

    HERM AND tALENT

mAYBE herm was not the greatest talent evaluator, and yes you are right, he did not dislike Katnik. But why didnt the kid play any? I havent heard any reasons from anyone here rather than try to bash me. I used the Parcells analogy because he is known for being hard on Rookies and younger players, Herm i believe let as many young players as possible play, look at how Rhodes and Coleman won their jobs, even Dressen played when Baker was down. Guys we all love the jets i understand some have their favorites . I was upset when we spent a 3rd round pick on BJ Askew, but thats life.

Your Answer was Herm is not a good talent evaluator? I guess when you have injuries and a season going nowhere its time to forget about talent and see what you have in your players, but you are right, its herms fault for not letting the kid dress, Mangini will do it differently.

Umm...when your best arguement for a player is "Herm didn't play him so he must be great" you know that you're reaching. I somehow find it hard to believe that Katnik is a potential superstar and both the 49ers and Jets just can't recognize his brilliance.

Of course it would've been funny if Herm had played him and he played like a PS player, causing Evilclownface and the rest of TGG's herm haters to demand the coach be fired.

Did you notice that the young guys Herm "let" play (Coleman, Rhodes, Dressen), all played because we either had no one else at the position, or because of an injury?

I'm not trying to bash you. I'm just saying your points are not valid. The fact that Herm didn't allow Katnik to play (or even dress) means absolutely nothing.

If Mangini sees something in this kid (which is all speculation obviously because I don't think he's actually come out and said anything), should we ignore that because Herm didn't let him dress? Or because he sat on SF's practice squad? The kid's been in the league for 2 seasons. We may have found a diamond in the rough.

Let me explain in a way that maybe even you can uunderstand.....

First, where did you get that quote from? Because I never said anything remotely like that. Maybe you should go back and re-read my posts.

Secondly, I supported Herm for a very long time (even after the Pittsburgh fiasco). I simply couldn't ignore his incompetence any longer however after seeing him make the same mistakes time and again.

Call me a Herm hater all you want. I'm just stating facts. We can not judge this kids ability based on the fact that Herm did not play him.

Like I said before, sometimes it takes young guys little while to grasp the NFL game. Is it so outlandish to think that maybe...just MAYBE Katnik improved over the past two seasons and is now showing some promise?

Wayne Chrebet was never drafted. He sent highlight tapes to many teams, yet no one targeted him. Actually Rich Kotite of all people decided to give him a chance and signed him.

Based on your point of view, Chrebet just wasn't good enough to play in this league because no one in the NFL thought he was good enought to even DRAFT.

Katnik didn't play because he had yet to bulk up, and play with his new size. It's been stated on this board ad nauseum, and people just choose to ignore it.
