I wouldn't expect to see Clemens until week 11

My gut feeling is Mangini is waiting until after the bye week. This way Clemens gets two full weeks to prepare, the playbook can be overhauled a bit more in that time to get some more plays approrpriate for Clemens' skill set. Also the offensive line seems like they're starting to gel. A couple more weeks and it could have the makings of a solid unit and that's when you want to put Clemens behind center.

By the way Mangini is handling everything this year, it makes me think that Chad will play unless he is carted off the field

Ha! By that point we'll be 1-9, and if that's the case will anyone care anymore?

Probably will be 3-6 at the break.

    2 things I can add:

I know this sucks to say but Mangini is most likely waiting till the locker room is completely behind a change. It is simply the idea of giving enough rope for Chad to hang himself with. I really believe that Mangini is smart enough to know that the pulse of the team was squarely in Chad's corner. If he stays with Chad long enough he may ultimately look better in the eyes of the locker room, even they will realize that he is no longer an NFL capable QB.

Nother school of thought is this:

Chad does not perform this week against arguably the worst defense in the league than he is truly done.

Either way I would have made the switch after the Giant game. However, I am not an NFL coach with much tougher reasons to factor in other than Chad clearly is not good.

someone on the radio made a good point that technically until they have 8 losses the season really isnt over..I know all of us Jets fans think different but thinking from an outside point of view people think chad will start until they have 8 losses

Yeah. It depends on this upcoming game. If we win, it will obviously ease some of the tension, if we lose -- or if the game is a rout in Cinci's favor, we see KC this Sunday. If we win, the change comes after the bye, definitely.

Totally agree with this. I think Mangini is thinking either he wins with Chad or he waits til everybody in NY is behind Clemens.

I think the Bills game is a great one for the change. We are home. It's a weaker team of the Schedule for the next four games. It's the only Division game of that five week period. And it lets Kellen prepare for the Dallas game on Thanksgivings with four weeks of practice at home.

If we wait til after the Bye, we are going to throw Kellen to the steelers and the Cowboys... what was the point of waiting if that is where we insert him into the lineup????

How stupid would it be to start him against PITTSBURGH?

If Chad struggles this week, put in Kellen...I better see him play Buffalo at the latest.

I don't think Chad will sit this year. Mangini obviously can't see the problem to this point so what's the liklihood of him spotting the obvious in the near future?

I can't wait till week 11 to see Clemens, watching Chad screw up every week is to painful even for a Jet fan.
