As Shakespeare said, "I come not to praise Chad, but to bury him.". Or something like that.

He won't be for long. At least I hope he won't. I can't take much more of this either.

This team has so many issues other than QB, so changing the starter or not won't really change all that much. With that said it warms my heart to know Chad is going to start again and so many of you are going to cry like little babies over it. :)

There really isn't anything left to defend. He isn't able to carry this team on his back (I'd like to see a QB that could - ha!) so it would be good to see Clemens get some time. For whatever reason the coaching staff is not going down that road yet. Maybe they have a good reason. All we can do is speculate about it. Losing sucks, but hopefully the pain eventually yields something positive in the long run.

As a Jet fan, it 'warms your heart' to know that Chad is going to start again, even after he directly lost 2 straight games, and then did NOTHING when put in position to win this week's game? As a Jet fan, what on EARTH is heartwarming about that?

    Jet fan? Or Chad fan?

I wish Chad was undefendable, in that case we wouldn't be having this discussion

This is a discussion forum, not a cheerleading squad....

If we can't discuss, debate, and criticize, sites like this would be pretty boring..

Come on Beaman... shed some more tears for us all.

Maybe, just maybe... I'm a fan of both. But like I said, this team has a lot more problems than the QB. I'm going to give the CS a bit more time to figure out what they are doing, or at least reveal what they are doing.

Oh I believe you're a fan of both, but saying that it makes you happy to see an obviously ineffective guy running the offense again for your team is quite a puzzling statement......

Maybe if enough people on this message board talk about how they hate Chad, Mangini will put in Clemens.

Osmosis is always an exciting coaching method. Herm was great at it, but the osmotic effect usually took 2 seasons.

Maybe he's just having a rough stretch of games and needs to get his groove back. Is Drew Brees done in New Orleans because he started the year with 10 ints to 1 td?

"But Chad can't throw the ball more than 3 yards and has more protection than Brees"

Brees: 14 completions of 11+ yards on the year, sacked 4 times
Pennington: 17 completions of 11+ yards on the year, sacked 10 times

Listen, I'm not saying I wouldn't mind seeing what Kellen can do, but to stick a fork in a guy after 3 poor games seems a bit far-fetched to me

How about 5 years of mediocrity? Since 03 penny boy has 54 td's and 46 picks. he was so so last year but we won, now he is just plain bad and were losing. Season's done, what good will their be in a 7 win year w/ Chad behind center?

That's the thing, it's not just 3 poor games. It goes back to last year. He was very mediocre last year too. But we beat up on some bad teams, won 10 games and everybody ignored it. Or they were so blinded by the surprise winning season and Chad actually starting 16 games that it didn't matter. Look back at last season, he was wildly inconsistent. He has not been the same since the shoulder injury and he has gotten worse this year. Just call it for what it is, Chad no longer has the physical tools to be an effective starting QB, and judging by his decision making as of late, the mental tools are fading as well.

Said very well without trying to bash Chad unnecessarily. He just does not have the physical tools any longer. It is not an insult to say it. Look I like the guy, I admire his spirit, leadership, smarts etc. He just is no longer an NFL caliber starting QB.

Well said Tony. How anyone can 'hate' Pennington is beyond me. He wrecked his body trying to lead this team.
