Chad has gone downhill, Pete Kendall has left town, the majority of the problem positions from 2006 were not addressed adequately in the draft or free agency, it's a lot of things, and yes, 4-6 wins is the likely result.
that was always my beef with the hiring of mangini. he was a defensive co. for one whole season, and it was a down year for them on defense. i also read somewhere on a pats board that the players had a mini revolt about the defensive play calling half way thru that season. the players felt it was not agressive enough, that they were playing too conservative. their present defensive co. (dan pees) (sp) helped mangini make some changes and the defense improved the last six games of the season. this was my biggest reason for not liking the mangini hiring. he was not ready to be a head coach and it is becoming rather obvious at this point. he seems to be over his head at the moment. i see no changes in the defensive scheme at all and all his tricks and cadgets seems to be all played out from last year. nothing new this season an it shows!!!!! and that swagger is long gone as is the so called genious......
were not supposed to be drastically regressing in year 2. there are a few things that are blatantly obvuous that would be solved with a change, and he ain't doin it.
does anyone have a problem with mangini not showing emotion on the sideline, being a fan watching it home or at the games, im always up cheering n living n dying on the plays, he just stands there with a stare, show some emotion
if he doesn't have the stones to make a switch to anybody else, then change his name to mangina......
No way Brad. If we have learned anything from Woodrow Johnson is that he is loyal to a t. If he stuck with Herm and Bradway for that long..he sure as hell isnt going to make any changes..even if this team ends up 3-13. Second year rebuilding has been rough for many a good gm/HC's. In fact its probably the reason he is not making the change at qb. Hes very comfortable with his future here and Im sure Woody has been told to hold on...this road of 2nd year transition could be a real tough one. The scary thing though is the defense. You cant even to begin to judge this offense as long as Chad is the qb. Its just not fair to the receivers who will eventually be killed catching his passes...its not fair to the running game. Now the defense....let me tell you something...if the facts are that Vilma is average...and Robertson is average...and you need to rebuild 3/4 of your linebacking crew...and wait out the growth of Revis and then go get someone to play along beside him...this defense is much further away then the offense is. When you hire a defensive mind...thats pretty damn alarming.
I know at 1 and 4 we have a really slim chance of making the playoffs. But we shudnt bench pennington until we are officially out. meaning dont bench him until we have lost 6 or 7 games.
This is what is worrying me too. I know alot of people are saying that we should have expected a step back, but this Defense is alot more than a step behind where they were even last year. They suck.
