I watched Mangini interview last night (may have been a rerun) but what struck me is Mangini's description of his ideal player. Hard working, team guys, NOT self centered, and must love football, etc. Think Joe Klecko and you'll get a good idea of the type of guy he wants. He would NEVER bring in a TO, or Key, or Shokey, etc. So when we are talking about brining in Arrington, or who to draft, remember Mangini will put character well ahead of talent. Too bad the draft boards only focus on talent and never mention much about character. Makes it hard to guess who Mangini will go after. Oh, Mangini hired Brian Cox as a coach. What position is he coaching? Excellent hire in my opinion.
Yeah its real good he looks at it that way, but how do us fans know how a players character is? Only the headcoach interviews. If we knew, the ideas we decide to post would be diffrent.
His avatar would be an excellent addition to the last meal thread in the BS forum. Actually, the avatar does not bother me at all. I just have to cover it up at work with my hand so I don't get "shit canned".
it's not THAT hard to judge character. The overachievers have, the underachievers don't. Think players like Andrew Whitworth, Will Derting. Players who love to play.
He's heard it a thousand times. I just try to be fast enough to scroll past without burning my retinas. Might actually be some interesting stuff in the original post, but I'd never know.
