Count me among the suckers. I've been a fan for 20 years now. I graduated high school in June after 1-15, so my truly formative fan years were spent in the dumps. This team gets you close and cuts your heart out. Denver in 1998 and Pittsburgh in 2004 were the worst moments I've had as a fan, and that's after investing this team with real emotion. I go into some seasons feeling that we're in for a rough one. I figured we were 8-8 going in this season, the first two games made me think 5 or 6 wins, and neither of the past two weeks have made me change that, although nothing would surprise me. Still, regardless of how the season may play out, I'm a sucker. I get excited about the next one. I get excited about the team. I get pissed at players, I get pissed at management, I get pissed at ownership. But I don't think I can ever stop caring, nor can I stop thinking "Maybe next year." It's one hell of a vicious rollercoaster, but I'd much rather be on it than standing on the side watching the ride.
