just trying to fan the flames a bit more this morning..gggg

but it will be an interesting scenario folks......that record would translate into a top 5 pick. now all of you geniuses already know that we have our franchise LT and franchise QB on the roster, right.......

so which way would they go?

it will make for one of the more bipolar offseasons and that is saying alot. and it could also make for a saints type turnaround the following season.

    Not if.

    When.

    DT RD1
    OG/RT RD2,

Possibly a trade down if there is a 3-4 tackle in the 10-15 range, to pick up 3
    players in the first two.

The Key thing in all of this is SIZE MATTERS.

Yes, let's all speculate on which position will be filled by yet another mediocre Jets draft pick.

    Someone shoot me now! Please!

No one is making you read these threads. And then, to post. So please, spare us the useless comments.

Anyway, i would say DE or NT. A nosetackle would be great, but 3-4 NTs can be hard to come by in the draft, so a power DE.

My comment wasn't an assault on the posters.

My intent was to express the frustration of having to discuss the draft (which this franchise typically debacles) this early in the season because of what appears to be yet another lousy season.

there is not a NT on the planet that you can justify a top 5 pick for.....

top 10 - quite possibly but not top 5.

again - the jets may be setting themselves up nicely cause they are already "perceived" to have the usual sexy top 5 picks on their team with ferguson the LT and clemens the QB.

All the more reason to get Clemens playing time to see what he has.

of course, knowing the jets he will do poorly and they will have entertain another hi round QB pick next year...ggg...seriously. they can parlee that top 5 pick into a couple extra selection and really get some talent in here on defense to go along with revis and harris who i think are money in the bank.

At this point, I don't think it matters.

    Tannenbaum will still be picking.

At first glance, it appears he's made some decent picks. But where is the Hall of Famer?

It's time for the Jets to use their high round pick to pick a true franchise, difference-making, championship-winning hall of fame player (Lawrence Taylor will always be the model).

Yeah, it's not easy to do.

But, when you get as many chances as the Jets have had, shouldn't they be able to get one more?

You don't need a top 5 pick to find these guys, they can be found on the 2nd day of the draft as we've seen.

What you need is a better talent evaluator. I'll give Mangini another year, I'm done with Tannebaum now.

Come on... are you serious? The d'brick pick may be suspect, but in the last 2 years, out draft has been probably top 5 in the league. If not, at least top 10.

And for the "Where's the HOFer" question... get serious mate.

How many of you realize how friggin’ hard it is to watch a 3 – 13 season in hostile territory out in public? God this sucks.

Thats a great point. The question is when does Mangini call it quits on this season. It would be nice to know if QB will be a question mark going into next year before the draft. Everyone wants to believe that Clemens is the man but nobody will know until they play the guy.

I'd love to know whats going through Mangini's head right now. He has to know the division is out of reach, and 1 more loss puts the playoffs in the same category. What is Mangini's magic number?

If rookie QBs keep throwing at Revis like he is the worst CB in the league, as they did yesterday, I'll reserve my judgement on how good our drafts have been for another year or two. When your so called stud CB ties for the team lead in tackles you know you have a problem.

    This is the key.

Until you know for sure what you have in Clemens, you can't assume anything about him. Leinart is taking a backseat to Kurt Warner right now. Supposed good QBs are not necessarily so.

This is a huge reason I'm in favor of just going with Clemens now. We can't get worse, and if he makes us better, even if he doesn't win that many games, we at least know it's one position not to have to worry about in the draft.

There's too many holes to fill on this team without worrying that our starting QB could be as well.

can we trade out of the top 5 and take Okam?

stockpile R2 and R3 picks and take a pass-rusher and a mammoth OL. hopefully, by next year, Bender will be ready to start and the addition of one more OL in the draft will set the line (again, hopefully).

if Clemens plays this year and shows promise, the 08 draft should be dedicated to revamping the Defense.

Mangini will be coaching to save his job. I don't see the Jets going as bad as 3-13. I didn't really expect them to make the playoffs, but I'm not a Jets fan. right now 5-11 seems about right.

That’s not a serious statement; Mangini does not have a turn around to save his job. if we loose the rest of the way he will fire assistants and Bob Sutton period Mangini will not be asked to leave the only way he's gone next year is if he pull's a belacheat and quits on the the team!

  20. Every starting CB rookie is gonna get picked on now and again..Revis is no exception. The bigger question is how has he responded?

Well he isnt a liability on the field...and has made some very good plays.
