It seems to me that Jets' should of gotten more for Abraham :breakdance: The number 29th pick ? Hmm?? That seems low, Jets' should have gotten #15 that the Broncos got. I hope Jets' don't package them trying to move up, cause there ain't a player in the 1st round worth moving for. If anything, I hope Jets' trade down & get more picks. There are alot of good players coming out this year. Jets' have alot of needs. Jets' can make this a draft to remember & really re-plenish there depleted team at the key O-line & D-line positions. Jets' can become solid for the next few years if they draft properly. Jets' should sign Aaron Brooks, He's better than anybody they have now & not go after a Qb in 1st round of draft; unless Young from Texas is available.
I don't know that the Jets should have gotten anything more than what they got considering Abraham didn't want to play for the Jets anymore and the Jets didn't want him. I'm just delighted Matt "The Second Coming" Schaub is not on the Jets roster.
I think the FO did a good job getting #29 for JAbe. The only thing I find disgusting is how we didn't take advantage of Atlanta's stupidity, and ship them our 3rd rounder and next year's 4th along with JAbe for #15. Of course it doesn't really matter, because we're most likley targetting OT or C with that pick, and we can get that at the end of the 1st round.
a healthy chad is obviously better, but i wont even go into that hell i would take ramsey/bollinger over that walking turnover
Yeah, well, now he probably is because Pennington probably can't play anymore. If Schaub ever plays as well as Pennington did while healthy, I'll be shocked.
I don't know what some of you are so down for. We had the same situation with a good DE last year and couldn't even get a 4th round pick for Darren Howard. He is a lot like Abraham because he had injury problems but when he was in the game he was great and made game changing plays. Since 2000 Howards has 259 tackles, 44.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 19 passes defended and 13 forced fumbles. The bad part is the Saints have two other very good DE's and they rotated them all in and Darren Howard played DT on obvious passing situations so his sack numbers should have been higher. Abraham has 278 tackles, 53.5 sacks, 0 interceptions, 5 passes defended and 19 forced fumbles in the same time. Basically you guys got a 1st round pick for a little over a sack and forced fumble a year. Abe is a better pure pass rusher but Howard is much more versatile since he can move inside and play tackle and is a load to move against the run. Howard also bats down a ton of passes and caused many interceptions over the year. We refused to trade Howard for a 4th round pick last year and instead kept him on the franchise tag and lost him with no compensation this year. If I were you I would be thankful to get a 1st round pick for any player that is on a franchise tender because odds are he wouldn't have been around next year anyway.
Ramsey did come at a great price, but let Ramsey & Avery Brooks duke it out. Best man wins.... Will only make Jets' a better & deeper team....& isn't that what's it all about ?
I am usually one to respect one's opinion, but bringing in Brooks is absolutly the dumbest move I have heard.
What is it that I see & you don't ? He did beat the Jets' this season, one of the 2 Saints 2 wins ?:breakdance:
