Werth, Dobbs, Ruiz for the Phils in the bottom of the 9th. Chad Cordero will be pitching.

Cordero almost hits Werth on his first pitch...now it's 1-1.

Phillies were in 1st for HOW long? And they can't hold that lead? Biggest choke in MLB history?

I have a feeling that their will be a tie-breaker game on Monday.

If I weren't a Met fan, I'd be rooting for Mets and Phillies wins plus a Padres tie for a two playoff games: Mets/Phillies on Monday followed by the loser vs. the Padres on Tuesday.

But I'm a Met fan. Go Mets and Nats!

the fact that glavine is on the mound tomorrow fills me with a nameless dread. still it's better then going into it down a game in the standings.

it'll be interesting to see if loduca bullies his way into the starting lineup tomorrow and if milledge is in there tomorrow rather then some "veteran presence" in the lineup.

Glavine worries me no more than any other of our starters, Pedro aside, would have. He hasn't been awful the last two months, and he was alright in the playoffs last year...

I dunno. It could be worse. It could be Pelfrey.

And I really hope somebody takes a tireiron to LoDuca's knee in the dead of night. For all the talk from Willie about going with his best players in the crunch, he seems pretty oblivious to the fact that every river of logical thought flows right to the idea that this should be Blastro's job.

I suppose, what worries me with Glavine though is that he'll be given a longer leash then any of the younger guys would and that it'll be more then enough to hang himself with. Another thing that bugs me about Glavine is so much of his success is dependant on what kind of strike zone the home plate umpire has that day.

You're right that Pelfrey/Humber would probably be worse though.

One thing's for sure: Tomorrow is going to be one of the greatest sports games of the year: Last day of the baseball season with 2 spots up for grabs (and a potential 3 day, 4 team tiebreaker looming), and week 4 of the NFL season. I'm pumped.
