I love this idea too, but where do his loyalties lie? After the whole spying issue, do you think he comes to coach with Mangini?
I don't think it is as much us needing a different defensive coordinator, as us being willing to adapt and change the system. Right now, the Jets are playing a dictatorship defense. They must morph or it will be a very tough year. Hmmmmmmmmm.............switching to a 4-3 is certainly worth a try; it can't get much worse.
I think the only way we have a new DC next year is if Crennell becomes available and wants to be a DC again. Otherwise I don't see Mangini pulling a Herm and making Sutton the scapegoat. Everyone knows this is Mangini's D & if it continues to struggle, he is the one to blame along with Tannenbaum for not bringing in the right pieces.
Romeo is absolute trash! He sucks as a headcoach and would never join Magini's squade unless Bill Cheatachek would O.K. it !
Not to pick on you but I am curious as to why you would post something like this without any info to back it up. All there is is conjecture and gossip mongoring by a bunch of jackass's (ie P.King and that fat bitch from the Times)) that need a crow bar to remove themselves from BB's ass everytime he stops short. 1.) R. Crennel and Mangini are "best" of friends. Guess who was not at his B-day party a few weeks ago? (hint it was not Mangini) Anyway thought you should know. I am not an insider it was just "reported" by some of the gossip whores, I mean 'beat writers" that cover the Jets. Edit; back on topic, LOL at the thought of M. Schottenheimer taking a DC job. Some team is going to hire him at the end of the season for a head coaching gig. It is quite apparent to most people that he was in no small measure a part of the Chargers success last year.
not true... Henderson made an immediate impact on their defense in his first season. From 2003 to 2004, New York improved from 21st to seventh in total defense, 23rd to fourth in the NFL in points allowed and 28th to fifth in rushing yards allowed. The team’s 261 points allowed in 2004 was just 10 points more than the league-leading Pittsburgh Steelers, and it ranked third-best in team history. The Jets 2004 defense also garnered a league-leading seven second-half shutouts, and held nine teams under 100 yards rushing, which included just two 100-yard rushers. The shame is that as much as some may have interest, Henderson would never take the job cause of the way the Jets let him go.
Let's bring Daddy over to help the Defense. It would be interesting to see a father-son combo as head co-ordinators.
