it all really starts with him, sooner or later the jets or going to make moves. If this trade is still on the table come draft day do it then. We'll still get a very good player at their pick.
Ussually the deals are discussed and then when the 4th pick in the draft hits they make the trade so that no one can supercede them from getting the player they want. SO...don't expect anything to go through till draft day. Thats the rule with the top 16 picks...
If atlanta doesnt give us their first rounder, Then we would be incredibly stupid if we dont do this deal, if its true.
I like this deal ... we could address a lot of our needs maybe even find several hidden talents in the second almost seems too good to be true now if The dayum falcons will give up the 15 .... we can get this rebuilding on the way
I cant believe what Im reading. Getting extra picks is great but, if we are trading down and someone wants a QB that badly we should definitely be asking for a 1st this year and a first next plus a 3rd this year. Look when we moved from 12 to 4 in the Drob draft. Or when the Giants moved from 4 to 1. Im sorry thats especially to big of a dive with an extra 1st rd.
Great...another rumor Im thinking we resolve the John Abraham situation before we move onto anything else
I wonder ifthe Abe situation is distracting us from signing free agents. I know we've hosted a few but so far it's been Chatham and Kimo. Looks like it'll be a slow rebuilding through the draft. So be it.
The Vikings would obviously be coveting one of the top 3 quarterbacks. Sure we gain 2 second round picks but lose a shot at one of the top 5. Hmm you have to weigh your options. I mean that second round like someone said is filled with talent. We could swipe up a Bobby Carpenter, or a Johnathan Joseph or Gabe Watson. That certainly is intriguing.
Holy jesus. So if both deals go through, we get a pair of young, talented, starting defenders at positions of need in Mosley and Williams. Then we have the following: round 1 - 1 pick round 2 - 4 picks round 3 - 1-3 picks (depending on comp picks for Jordan and McKenzie) That's 6-8 day one picks, in the deepest draft in years! And with the 2 pickups for the DL, it would tell me Robertson may be trade bait as well. DL - Ellis, Mosley, Kimo (Thomas, Puoha, Reed) LB - Barton, Williams, Vilma, Hobson (no real depth here)
Vikings | Moving up for a QB? Tue, 21 Mar 2006 10:27:15 -0800 The Associated Press reports the Minnesota Vikings have not ruled out trying to move up in the 2006 NFL Draft to take one of the rookie quarterbacks - Southern Cal's Matt Leinart, Texas' Vince Young or Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler. "If you have a little bit of ammo, if you see somebody that moves you, you'd be able to move up if that person was there," said Vikings head coach Brad Childress. The Vikings may package the second-round pick they received from the Miami Dolphins to move up.
if you can trade down to 16 and get a rb and get two twos you have to do it we have a lto of dead money and players to fill their spots this is how oyu fill their spots cheap young talent
now that the ABE deal appears to be pretty much done ; this one might be moved to the " front burner " .
i need something more concrete than your friend.... its a nice trade but i really dont see us doing that considering we need a qb ourselves... but then again the possibility of have 2'1st and 3 '2nds is incredible.
Kelly I truly hope this is true ... and I very much hope we make the trade. 2 - 1st 3 - 2nd 1 - 3rd (possibly more with comp picks) Sure we miss out at #4 ... but this kind of trade gives so much flexibilty in selecting players.
I believe this is a BS rumor, BUT even though you are making this up I really like the idea, I would be real happy if we made a deal like this because we need to just pile up a lot of 1st day picks
