In terms of winning a SB is concerned it's not going to matter much which we start this year and most likely not next year. Clemens, if he is the one, will be more than ready when the time comes imho.

Seems to have fared better against a team with a much better defense already. Not to say he won't throw any picks, because all QB's do. In fact Namath was pretty famous for throwing them by the bushel himself. Most fans are just blood thirsty and hopeful something bad will happen, which doesn't say much for a lot folks rooting for us to win on Sunday.

Let's see what happens against the Dolphins. If the Jets lose, then it's Clemens time cuz the season is basically done.

    I'll agree!

If Chad can't get a win against Miami it is time to turn over the ball and grab the pine.

With a name like Pennington4life, your opinion is going to be somewhat biased...

He won't need to ask for a trade as there is close to ZERO chance he is a Jet next year because of his contract, and neither Chad nor the Jets are going to be super interested in doing an extension for hims as backup.

That is the simple truth. If Clemens is the future, the Jets will have to bite the bullet the season they start him. He will probably not have the success Brady had. If the team is mediocre, this might be the year to do it.

I agree. It's a damn shame that Chad will probably have to get "Bledsoe'd" before the Clemens era starts around here. The word "transition" simply doesn't exist in JetWorld..

    You guys are F*ng nuts.

    It boils down to this.

Clemens completes maybe TWO passes a game that Chad might not.

Chad makes at least 5 or 6 plays a game that Clemens might not.

Thats how you decide who plays. Period.

Not because some nuts on their couch get moist panties over a little more arm stregnth.

Pennington sat on the bench for two full seasons, and didnt becaome the starter, until the team was in a hole in 2002.

Clemens has shown a little bit so far, but not nearly enough.

    too bad....so sad.

If Chad loses, more of this talk. If Chad wins, more of this talk.

Tell me why people bother to post here anymore? Damn. I'm going back to the bunker.

I want Chad out of here more than anyone but the F/O has to be held accountable for both lines. Chad does the best with what he has and unfortunately it is not good enough to put us over the top. It is time for the Pennington era in Ny to end!

So this year's campaign is against Chad and next year you will all be looking to crucify Tanny. Now that I got the memo...

No I will not be looking to crucify Tanny or Mangini. The Jets are rebuilding and that does not happen in a year. We have alot of draft picks and hopefully Chad's cap space to fix those problems over the next few years. Tanny has done well so far. They just made some mistakes in regards to evaluating their lines and not paying Pete Kendall for a year. I don't dislike Chad as a person I just don't think he has the skill necessary to take the Jets to the promised land even if he has a supporting cast! I will not defend a Qb who can not throw. It is like defending a Rb who can not run.

Good post, right up until you start talking about Chad not being able to throw. We are obviously not going to disagree on this. And if they do let him go at the seasons end for cap space, which I not so sure will happen, we will see a number of teams looking at signing him. He's a solid QB (when healthy).

I'm in the camp of people believing letting Kendall go had to be done. But perhaps they have err'd evaluating the lines ability on both sides of the ball. Still early in the season though. I'm going to wait and see another 2-3 games before I start throwing anyone under the bus.

What I mean by Chad not being able to throw is he will never be able to put up points on the board if we get behind by 14 points. Our Defense, Running game and line has to be exceptional for him to excel and there is no margin for error. He can go to the Bears, Jaguars or Ravens and be fine because it will be a field position field goal game he can manage. With this team he is a liability because we are going to have to score more than 14 points a game and if we get behind the game is over. If he were the Qb last week and we were down 20-3 the Ravens would have released the hounds and we would have lost 30-3 because he would be forced to do something he has prove he can't and that is throw while behind. Regarding Kendall Im not sad they released him and that was a business decision I just think it could have been handled better and they could have done a better job of getting a replacement. Im not throwing Chad under the bus I never though he was a Sb caliber Qb. Everyone has seen the level of play our team has to get to to beat the Patriots and Chad does not stand a chance against that team in Jan if we get to the playoffs. Clemens had the Ravens backpeddling in the 4th qt and would have bought us back if not for J-drop. In all of Chad's years I saw him attack a defense once. Two weeks ago vs the pats when he was pissed and came to the relaization that he is on borrowed time. Jones will not do a thing because he will see 8 in the box again this year because Chad can not stretch the field. Same story different Rb different year.
