Don't kid yourself their are players in that locker room who hate and love each other and there are camps within camps on every team.

That doesn't change the fact that there isn't a controversy.

How do you know that? Just because some players were shipped out doesn't mean everything is swell in Jets ville.

Please, man, these guys actually PLAY football for a living, you think they don't know Chad's limitations? You think they didn't see the arm on Clemens on Sunday? You think they haven't seen what he can do in camp? How can you say there aren't players on the team with Super Bowl clause money to win that wouldn't mind seeing a QB with better physical tools as a better option to get that bonus money?

There might even be a running back and OL man who wouldn't mind seeing at least 1 safety a little off the LOS.

Hey, no doubt there could be some players on the team that want to see a change. Doesn't make it a controversy. You have a proven veteran QB that wins more than he loses when healthy. If he's healthy you play him, until you don't have a reason to (ie, we are eliminated from playoff race, or he sucks something awful). Neither of these things have happened. This controversy talk is just wishful thinking the part of some who want the change to come sooner.

You're wrong. He was willing to do it with Vinny here. He was willing in college to do it an entire year. After being forced to start most games his true freshman year due to injuries to the other QBs - he accepted being redshirted so that a senior QB transfer from Florida could start He was on the sidelines, clipboard in hand, every game watching the new guy lead Marshall to an undefeated season throwing to a freshman called Randy Moss. He later said it was killing him but it was for the best. He later led Marshall, without Moss, to an undefeated season his senior year too. Chad is, always has been, and will continue to be a TEAM FIRST player. But he is also very competitive and wants badly to play.

Very insightful counterpoint, Blevins. But I might argue that Pennington's mentality as a sophomore college quarterback or as an NFL rookie backing up an entrenched veteran could have changed over the years. A constant barrage of media criticism (New York media, no less) will do that. After years of being told that HE was weak-armed, that HE was fragile and that HE was a liability (none of which has affected his passion for the game, to his credit) does he now believe that the New York Jets have something to prove, or that HE has something to prove?

Regardless, he starts Sunday against some harmless fish. And he's pissed off that he will likely only have one full 16 game season in his entire career.

    Good hunting, Chadwick.

its a good point but it workls both ways, chad could be even more catious trying not to loose the game, not more ballsy, if ur job is on the line u play do u play to not to loose it or do u play for a promotion?

i couldn't agree more, in no way was he being disrespectful, none. He did not utter a word of complaint when there was an open quaterback tryout, he knows he is the starter and i guarentee he had nothing but positive things to help kellen last sunday, anyone thinking he was trying to show up the coaches or anyone else for that matter mustve not been watching the same classy guy ive been watching for 8 yrs

The Dolphins D is not that bad and their team will be thinking we can be their first win as well. This week will not be as easy as people think.

At home we should beat the Dolphins pretty easily. We are not that bad and they are not very good.

blah blah your whole point is a story from his college days.

it had nothing to do with the post you quoted.

chad did act childish and resonate jealousy on the sidelines. this is coming from someone who loves chads character

Being a Pennington guy as well I was very happy to see Chad on the sidelines in full battle rattle with that eagerness to get in the game. I can see the point that it was somewhat disrespectful to Clemens who was excited to get his first start, but CP wears the C on his jersey and wanted to show the team his tenacity. All in all this is real nit-picky.
