I think Clemens is 1) an idiot. I knew he was starting long before kickoff, since it was being announced even during the Giants' game radiocast. 2) in deep shit. He just revealed something from inside the hallowed walls of Weeb Ewbank Hall. Hope your ass is immune to splinters kid. This week it's going to be grabbing some pine.
I'm sure he knew he was starting. How could he not? He's not stupid. He was practicing with the first team all week, and Mangini and Clemens both knew he was starting. I think Mangini wanted Clemens to start, and Chad didn't really have a real chance to start all week.
No, if Eric wants to keep it a scret, thenthe best way it to tell noone. And Alio, even if he shouldn't have said this, what does it really do to the team?
Do we honestly think KC would have gone in if not given the ok. Lets be real. I think mangini may not have given the verbal ok, but he sure did give the NOD wink.
As a rookie Qb starting his first game, dont you wanna make the guy confident, let him knows hes the man today, PUMP HIM UP!
I do not think that Kellen will get in trouble for saying this. I also understand why Mangini would do this. In Mangini's mind he might be thinking that if Kellen wants to be the starter, he has to take it. And he did. Mangini may do this again Sunday.
Maybe Chad and Kellen will both run on the field and then fight over who gets to start at gametime. Rock Paper Scissors maybe?
I tried running onto the field during a game once when nobody told me not to. Turns out it doesn't work if you're naked.
I'm not sure I totally buy this, but here's a reason why it might of went down. Mangini wants to test the kid's determination and doesn't tell him anything. KC wants the ball and marches on the field. Maybe a test of the kid's moxie?
I meant that post to sound more sarcastic than it did. But I was already embroiled in an argument about cheating, so the humorous tone didn't really shine there. I seriously doubt Mangini is going to freak out about the kid saying he didn't know if he'd be playing or not. Hell, it only adds to the Mangini Mystique if not only the media doesn't know, but neither do his players.
