Where the hell is brad smith? Against a defemse that is known to overpursue a time and again, wouldn't you think that brad smith with trick plays would be used???? I understand we had a 1st time qb playin and we didnt wanna make things difficult,. but cmon. I am astounded that they didnt use him today, utterly astounded, against the best d in the nfl , this wouldve been the medicine they needed. Antwaan Randle -El would kill the ravens with the wide reciever passes, kill em. Brad smith was the qb of mizz, he can throw better then randel el. The most imagination we did today was a fake wr reverse handoff, stupid smokescreen play. Anyone else dissapointed for the lack of imagination?
Until the 3/4 is scrapped, you won't see much of Vilma. Brad Smith blew the recovery on the OSK. Other than that, he's become Mr. Invisible.
I went to www.freetranslation.com, but I wasn't sure what language to put this in. Can anyone help translate this for me?
Yeah...i remember when they overpursued on the Lamont Jordan pass right before half time a few years ago. (sarcasm)
im sitting in a room with my 3 roomates who are from maryland and they are die hard raven fans, they all agree that the defense's one small weakness is their tendencey to over pursue, which is a trait among aggressive defnses
If he isn't thrown into the gameplan it's tough to blame that on him. On the OSK he jumped a bit too early but the D finally did their job it's too bad J Mac sucks. I wonder if Smith would have caught that pass. Who knows but so much for a guy that was a converted WR. The only time we see on the field is on a gimmick play.
I would have liked to see more Smith. As for Vilma, he was in the wrong position to make plays most of the day.
I actually thought Vilma had a pretty good game. He broke through the line well on blitzes and was noticeable against the run. Also, Smith had a catch or two i believe
Your saying that you're gonna cream just really threw me off... Smith had one grab for 8 yards. He's athletic, but he's not that great of a receiver yet. JMac is a better receiver than Smith right now, although that sounds like blasphemy at this point. Is Smith ready for a bigger role? I don't know. I wouldn't have minded a reverse at some point tonight though.
They had one week to get Clemens ready to play with the first team. I'm sure the coaching staff focused on getting him comfortable with Cotchery and Coles. JMac played more because of the supposed rapport that those two built in the preseason. If Stuckey were healthy, you'd probably have seen him as well. He seemed to play well with Clemens as well. If Kellen gets more starts this season, you'll see them add more in. I didn't think we'd see any trickery this week after a single week of practice.
