Quarterback: B Kellen Clemens had very happy feet (sometimes for good reason) in the first half and didn't look that great. He also held onto the football way too long other times and got lucky. I didn't see the first interception because of CBS, but in the 4th quarter, he looked fantastic. All in all, a very nice performance in his first career start. Runningback: C- 2.8 yards per carry is bad. Yes, I know the offensive line was bad, but given the fact that the YPC is low, along with his fumble late in the game that almost killed us, and the overall poor blocking by the backs this game, and I can't give them a good grade. Receiver: B Cotchery played the game of his life, and Coles had one of the best catches you will see this week. McCareins' 2 key drops hurt this grade some, so does the first half when the Ravens blitzed constantly. You're limited watching the game on television, but I would have to assume they weren't getting open as consistently in the first half. However, you can't argue with the results from Cotch and Coles. Tight End: C Baker had the lone TD, but it was his only catch. His blocking was mediocre, along with the rest of the line. Offensive line: D First 3 quarters, the offense was simply non-functional largely to do with the blocking. The 4th quarter saves an F-grade. Defensive line: C- Again, no pressure, but they stopped McGahee pretty well this week for the most part. They did tie up blockers fairly well, but the results are average at best. Linebackers: B- Thomas and Vilma had good games, but you really hope you can get pressure out of this unit, and we're getting none. The run stopping from this unit was good, though Barton and Hobson did not play too well. Secondary: B- Revis looked very good when they threw towards him. Barrett again was picked on a lot and had another pretty bad game. No turnovers caused by this group, and Boller threw to a pretty high percentage, but given the complete lack of pressure all day, you can't fault them completely, especially considering Boller only threw for 185 yards on his 35 passes. Special Teams: D+ Graham didn't have a great day kicking, the return unit was a complete non-factor, and there was a breakdown on one of the kickoffs. Nugent had a solid game though, going 2/3, with his only miss being from 53 and going 1/1 from XP. Nugent's a damn good kicker. Graham hasn't lived up to his reputation in the last few games, although I may be slightly biased seeing as I saw the punter for Maine kick an 85 yard punt against Villanova yesterday. What can we take from this game? We have a quarterback controversy on our hands. Kellen Clemens's 4th quarter showed a lot of talent, and he did a lot of things that show that he can be the QB of the future. You have to love the flashes of brilliance late against a fantastic defense. The real problem is that the same issues that appeared in week one continued on to week two. The Jets generated no pressure whatsoever yet again, except for the one play on 3rd down late where Ellis and a few others were in the backfield. That was a huge play, but other than that, 0 sacks in 2 games is unacceptable. 0 turnovers in 2 games is unacceptable. Running less than 3 yards per carry in back to back games is unacceptable. These things need to be fixed, and some of these things may not be fixable. The offensive line is young, so it hopefully will get better as the season goes on, but that's about as good as much as it will improve. Granted, most teams aren't as good as Baltimore or New England defensively, so it should improve against lesser teams, but this is a major Achilles' heel when playing the premier teams. The defense will hopefully incorporate more 4-3 and more fronts to confuse offenses, especially those with young quarterbacks. We saw how Clemens was affected by some of the pre-snap movement by Baltimore as well as the crowd noise. Hopefully we can get comfortable in the system and be able to play both 3-4 and 4-3 well. That could help generate pressure and eventually turnovers.
i dont think to O-Line deserves a D i thinkt hey should get a B. KC was holding on to the ball for way too long early in the game and no o-line could've blocked a 6 or 7 man rush for taht long. They could have improved on run blocking but i thought the pass blocking was top notch
Thank God - I couldn't believe that anyone thought he was anything but awful. Other than Nugent, the special teams have been terrible back-to-back, something that a team with as many holes as the Jets have cannot afford.
Im not sure you can blame the o line when they are bringing more rushers than there are olinemen. RB's, TE's and QB's (through decision making) is what fights the blitz.

Jetfanmack These are playoff teams. If we cannot generate any offense against them, we have no chance of going to the big dance. Lets accept the facts. We are a second rate team.
Stupid - you gave them a 75% overall grade which would be a solid C when in reality they failed to meet their objective which was to WIN a football game. Rethink your answers and come up with a 63% overall average – a failing grade.
