This is great....so you knew that Ogden and Roaf were going to be hall of famers and that ferguson is going to have a horrible career. I love mind reader Jet fans. Thanks for telling us that you draft great players in the drafts, and that you know whos going to be great and whos not.
Funny during the game it wasn't just D Brick that I saw getting owned. In fact it might have been Mangold, Clement and Moore getting their asses handed to them as well.
For the 2nd straight week I thought he played pretty good. But if you want to bench him who would you suggest start in his place?
Now why in the world would I want D'Brick to be a bust???? Who in their right mind would like their team to have wasted a first round pick, especially the 4th overall? I pray to God that I am wrong and that Brick turns into a great player, but as far as I see it, that just currently isn't the case. Now, as far as examples, I'm sorry, I don't have any specific ones to give you, I don't have DVR or any way of going back and reviewing the play. But what I can say is that there is just so little forward push on our line, Jones was consistently running into the backs of our lineman because they a) can't open a whole and b) can't create much of a forward surge. And Tony (I think it was him) was right as to the one specific play I was referencing, where Brick hardly laid a finger on Ngata, unfortunately for me that is one of the few plays that are actually shown replayed on television that focus solely on the line. Of course there are going to be some holes throughout the game and our backs will get some yards, but the amount of clear paths that are created is terrible. Luckily the line as a whole picked it up on those last two drives of the game and gave Clemens some time and they actually looked like a coherent unit, but overall, the line still stinks. **edit** I know, I know, the post trailed off and focused more on the entire line. But as I said above, I don't have anyway to review Bricks individual play. But with a 4th overall pick anchoring the line, there should be much less pressure, less sacks, and more surge. That's basically what I'm saying.
IM UPSET CUZ BRICK NEEDS TO BE DOING GOOD. WE WANT HIM TO SHOW UP. AND HE DOESN'T.at least not for the whole game. he'll wake up mid way thru the third quarter. There's four quarters in a game and he needs to play throughout
Was I watching the wrong game or did KC get killed in the first half? If you like D'Brick performance today I'm sure you will love how well he does against Jason Taylor next week. Ok, leave him in there.
There are so many people on here that will call him a bust at the drop of a hat. You have to understand that developing into a dominant Lineman takes time. Now he started off decent last year...got alot of help from te's on his side. Now this year he's been left all on his own...there have been growing pains but he has improved w/ every snap. And again, He's never gonna be a great run blocker. He will always be average run blocker at best. He was brought here to be a blue chip pass protector. Today against Terrell Suggs, IMO he was.
So you just automaticaly assume when KC gets sacked its Brick's fault? Sounds very similar to those that blindly blame D rob on D for any mishap or problem.
Jets fans like pain and misery. It's just like how Red Sox fans used to be, in a way they liked the pain. We made a controversial pick taking Brick that high, and he hasn't justified that position yet, so he immediately becomes public enemy number 1. Kind of like how DeWayne has been a good DT, but not a great DT, so a lot of people totally hate him.
If that's what you made out of my post you obviously don't understand what's being said and can't read... Allow me to simplify this for the pebble in your noggin: D'Brick= Project Roaf= Not a Project Ogden=Not a Project Got it? Kewl....
Two plays. That's all I saw, and I spent most of the game rewinding on sacks and O-line breakdowns to watch the line. Brick got beat on the Ngata play and missed a pickup when he had to drop back to assist Clarke. Other than that, he did exactly what he was drafted to do. I'd like to see Bender in at LG because by all accounts, he's a decent run blocker. The two would complement each other well. Clarke continues to struggle on both.
