whether you place this loss on chad (honestly i dont see how anyone possible can) or the men in the trenches, the most troubling thing for us jets fans has to be the fact that this team is filled with dangerous weapons. Coles and Cothchery again displayed why they are two of the better wide recievers in the nfl yesterday. Leon has shown us his instant touchdown ability and although it was just a slight flash thomas jones showed me yesterday against the an elite defense that he runs hard, isnt afraid to dip his shoulder and really throws his body into defenders with a reckless abandon...

The problem? Well thomas jones was running into brandon moores ass half the time.... Coles and cotch were regulated to 7 yard crossing patterns because the o-line couldnt protect the qb long enough for routes to develop. Even when a sucessful screen pass was set up, the brick whiffed on his assignment and turned a potential 50 yard play into a decent 17 yard gain....

This team has big play ability. We can put up points and its so sad that we might never see it develop if our line continues to play this poorly. I guess all those nfl gm's knew something that tannenabum didnt when they were throwing millions at left guards. Today, more than any other point in nfl history, (due to the puree speed and strength of pass rushers) the offensive line is the one position worth dishing out some serious money for..... Other wise our nice new rb and our flashy little recievers will continue to watch our qb get smothered and eventually just bolt the next time there contracts are up...

    Pats

I hate to say it but the Patriots looked very good. I think the Jets ran into a touch matchup for game one and got beat by a better team. I dont who is going to be able to stop the patriots this year. I dont know if it was us, or if the pats just have great protection - but TOm Brady had all day to make passes. Thats usually not good when you have players like Randy MOss running around to throw to.

    Yes.

If the OC doesn't get his head of out his ass, and try to stretch the field, left to right.

There are about a half dozen plays that work symibotically, all within 5-10 yards of the LoS that we dont run anymore for some reason.

And the defense crowding the LoS plays into the Success, rather than the defeat of those plays.

Eh I dunno. We've been saying the same thing for the past 5 years and it never pans out.
