I didn't see this elsewhere (please merge if I missed it), but I thought this was interesting.

Like many have said and I hope its true, it just seems like a severe sprain. Lets hope the MRI today does not show ligament damage. If it's a sprain they may sit him out next week, you do not want to be a sitting duck with the Ravens defense. We all know that at the end of next week we will probaly be 0-2, Chad or not, so lets put KC in there and see what the kid can do against that Ravens D. Not looking to kill KC or a great game, but just see how he handles himself against a D like that, it will go a long way in seeing if he is the real deal.

What do you want him to say? He took responsibility but he's right, there's the rest of the game to play. You want to get the next guy hurt too? You have to focus.

I agree with what you are saying. You can't dwell on your mistakes during the game, but at the same time I'd like to see some more fire out of Brick. This is college anymore where he can be Mr. Niceguy and still play awesome- where's the mean streak. All the mentoring and what not they are giving him is fine, but maybe someone needs to bash him in the head with a freakin tire iron once in awhile to remind him this is the NFL and not happy hour.

During the game you can't dwell on mistakes - but after the game Ferguson should be freakin pissed off that he screwed up on his only friggin job and got his QB hurt.

brick had a shit game yesterday. he was constantly beaten at the LoS and could not keep his man. its kind of a reality check when the "big time" LT is underwhelming and that was without the pats best lineman in the game.

i hope he can get it turned around, but so far hes been dissapointing.

A high ankle sprain (if that's what it is, and the description given is consistent with that) can be as difficult to come back from as ligament damage or even broken bones. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out, because CP could be out for a lot more than one game.

I’ve broken my ankle requiring it to be screwed and plated back together and on a different occasion I sprained it really badly. I swear – I was sure my damn ankle was broken for sure – when the doctor told me it was just a bad sprain I thought he was friggin’ nuts.

It looked like to me the way he was hopping around on it that it’s a bad sprain – which is really, really painful. Mine hurt for a few weeks but I’m sure they have slicker ways of treating it than just limping on it and complaining about it (like I did). If it’s a sprain – I would think they could have him fixed up by next week.

But – if it is a sprain and he needs to sit next week – I won’t question his toughness. That shit hurts!

Yeah he's gotta keep his head straight now. My guess is that he's in a world of hurt and wondering about whether or not he belongs in the NFL. the next half dozen games will give us all a big clue as to whether he proves out or busts.

I thought high ankle sprain as soon as I realized it probably wasn't broken.

The Jets have a very interesting dilemma now, as does Chad. Every game that he's out increases the knowledge about Kellen Clemens ability to play in the NFL. If Clemens starts to prove out then Chad is probably done as Jets starter. If Clemens looks like a bust then the Jets have to be thinking QB in the first round next year if they get the opportunity to draft a franchise guy. Either way it's not looking good for Chad.

All of which increases the pressure on Chad to do anything he can to get back in there as fast as he can before enough is known about Clemens to effectively seal Chad's fate with the Jets.
