With all these negative threads, I thought it would be good to have a thread so some folks could still be positive about the team.

Come on folks we are a good team, and we're gonna bounce back! Sure today stunk, but we'll get em next week!

J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS! :jets:

Hopefully. Today was beyond ugly, but it would only take some better o-line and d-line play to improve this team lots.

I thought our offense looked pretty good, especially once Thomas Jones got going a little bit in the second half. Take away a ridiculous kick return (honestly, when you kick the ball that deep, the other guy is not supposed to run it out) and the Pennington injury (even though he came back, that hit killed what was looking like a promising drive), and this game wouldve been much closer.

Plus theres an awful lot of that first game of the season mystery going on here. The Jets were, in almost all senses, the same basic team that the Patriots studied three times last year. The Patriots had all new starting wide receivers, and in particular I don't think anybody knew how the Patriots would be using Randy Moss.

Obviously you always feel better about a team after theyve won a game, but I felt the Jets did a nice job stopping the run and moved the ball well on offense. They got torched in the passing game, but lets not forget that Andre Dyson, arguably our best corner, was out, and Darrelle Revis was starting his first NFL game, so that situation could improve too. Its a disappointing loss any time you lose to those jerks, but Im optomistic about next week (assuming Pennington is fine, which I think he will be. Honestly, not only are Jets fans classless, but theyre idiots, Pennington was playing lights out today).

I think by the bye week when we are 4-5 we can be positive about reaching .500 with the soft 2nd half of the schedule.

I am proud of the effort we showed today. Its the first game in a long season and when we play them again we'll benefit from this loss. The pass game was very good for us we moved the ball pretty well against arguably the best unit in the NFL with no int's the run game will improve we saw a different rush attack late in the game. One thing I didn't like was the passive approach on defense we have weapons on defense but just didn't call a good D plan to dictate to them we basically just let them absorb us. ST was a huge factor but this does not happen often to Westhoff they caught us off guard on the return. All in all I said we need to convert 3rd's win the t/o battle and make a play on ST's to win. If not for the 108 return we could have been right there with them.

Which game were u watching? The Pats pounded the ball up the middle all day. I agree that I saw positives on offense (o-line needs to improve awareness) But our defense got walked all over. I do however have faith and think things will gel and I am looking forward to Baltimore!

    You know whats pathetic ?

The Jets only played one game and everyone well not everyone... Is ohh the seasons over bench chad the draft for the Jets was a bust....

Shut up all ready their is still 15 games left . And those 15 games will be a testiment to Mangini and his team. Man Im glad some of yall are not the HC and GM. Cos the season would be over..
When Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl didnt they lose something like their first four games ?
Now Im not saying the Jets will win the Bowl. But they are no toilet bowl team either....
the Jets have one hellova a schedule this year and it will only give them that experiance they need to pull some W's out...

Basically what i am saying is you cant judge a team by one game espeacially against the Pastriots who you know are gonna bring it against the Jets no matter how bad they are.:shit:. Their is 15 games left to determain what this team will be . Lets look forward to those games and to going into foxbourgho and stealing one like last season . But firstly the Jets have Baltimore to get ready for which should be a hellova game ..:jets:

The "Bench Chad" crowd is especially amusing. He was one of the only guys who did anything yesterday, otherwise it would have been 41-0.

You know Chad has won a pretty good amount of games for having an arm like a 8 yr old girl.... He is the Offensive leader and with a medicore line we dont know what he can do. Come on If T.Jones cant run the ball what makes us think he will have time to check down a WR. Plus its only 1 game ...

It's bad enough the Jets lost in a way so did I . I lost a bet with a neighbor. But all the negativity needs to stop... Jesus H. Christ . Some people are acting like the Jets are the Raiders this year... Or hell the Cheifs .
Need I mind yal Herm is Gone!!!!
Plus the Jets have a balanced schedule. They play some toughteams, some weak teams and some decent teams . The Jets will get more W's than L's...

Rah Rah sorry boss no offensive line and no pass rush make for a long year. Not Chads fault. We knew it goin in and it was proven to us. Pass rush was worse than bad, closer to comical. We couldnt stop the run at the end of the game when we knew that they would run. I will agree on one thing you are right it is only the first game and there is no way to go but but up

I don't think we're saying the season's over...on the contrary, we feel this team has the potential to reach the playoffs...if some adjustments are made...the issues people are calling out have been evident to most of us even before the season began.

Football Fans of any team that loses each week react the same way. There are fans of 16 Teams that will think Super Bowl after this week, and half will want to fire everyone after a week 2 loss.

    Agreed!

People who are still talking about CP today are more concerned with their agenda, and really missed what happened on the field yesterday.
