ummmm... he really wasn't bad today. He gave up sacks on all out blitzes. The pass protection was pretty good today and the run blocking came on after D'Brick really started getting pissed off. He is looking pretty damn good. Maybe its just a different perspective from seeing the game on tv versus being there.

Sometimes I wonder if Brick wanted to play in NY. I know he's from LI, but the first thing I noticed when he got drafted is that he looked disappointed.

I brought into the hype back when he was a Sophomore @ UVA, but maybe we were all wrong?

I think I pointed this out a few weeks ago...
OL coach is responsible for getting the linemen ready for the season, no?

Tony Wise did have his time in the past, but his recent job history has been utterly pathetic. (Check his visit at Dolphins, and how Dolphins OL fared, for instance.) I am starting to have my doubts over him. He had 2 summers (and one full season) to mold D'Brick, and D'Brick looks like shit. Whose fault is it?

I was excited when we got him, but so far he hasn't convinced me.

We could have had Leinart/Cutler, Marcus McNeil, and a chance against the Pats... but hindsight is 20/20

Yeah, if you cherrypick the best player available with every pick, we'd have won the Super Bowl by now.

And I'm not sold on Leinart at all.

  10. He had a very good first half(up until back to back holding and false start penalties). It wasnt till the 2nd half when the socre got out of hand and the pats were doing all out blitzes that his play started to fall apart.

Thats what happens when you trade the veteran guard that was supposed to mentor brick. He was the glue between Brick and mangold. All he is now is a waste of space. he better show and prove this year, lets not forget we're playing the ravens next week!!!

Pass protection was OK!?!? Come on.

Clement, Moore, Mangold, Clarke, Ferguson ALL played like shit today.... either that, or they were just simply overmatched.

Kendall has blended in amazingly well with our Oline. Placed between Rabach and Samuels, Pete solidifies a legit run game that won't miss the 49-million-dollar man (Dockery) at all.

We amassed 400 yards total offense and 150+ on the ground. Kendall has brought leadership and steadiness when we thought we were doomed.

Thank God for the trade. Though the score didn't look impressive, the Redskins played smashmouth football the way Gibbs likes to play it. And that's with a rookie at right tackle and Kendall both on O line.

Jetskins save our skin again and again and again.

While I do agree with you in that you don't win Kentucky Derby with donkeys, I disagree with you on whether D'Brick is actually a bust or not.

I have a belief that, NFL players are more of a product of nurturing than talent. Players that are drafted in 1st day are drafted in 1st day for a reason - either he does have a knack for football, or scouts are plain wrong. (I don't want to bet on the second option however.) Barring Peyton Manning case, I have hardly seen a success case where 1st draft pick was thrown into the fire in their very first professional season - thus I still have high hopes for Ferguson, since he did show he could get the job done in the NFL in his very rookie year.

Because my belief is as such, I am looking at the OL coach instead. I mean, I just don't understand why Ferguson can't bulk up at all (1), play with that lousy technique (or lack of - 2). I strongly doubt Mangini would draft anyone with questionable work ethic - so I don't think I can point finger on D'Brick, so then the blame falls squarely on OL coach and no one else.

Brick wasn't too bad today (other than the one play that got Pennington hurt)

Oh enough of the Brick bashing. He wasn't bad today. I mean yeah I know he was a high pick but that doesn't mean to keep criticizing the guy. He was fine.

Easy Charlie, about 70 of your yards today came on that fluke at the end of the game (Dolphins batted down a Hail Mary, and Randal-El caught it before being tackled short of the end zone). You don't have the Smurfs out there, now. And your Hall of Fame coach is quickly showing since his return he ain't what he used to be.
