The jets are now starting their 5th year trying to convince themselves that Boobway didn't err when he traded a king's ranson for old "short and slow" (Robertson). How much money has he banked as a result of Boobway's stupidity? Instead of cutting him, Mangini keeps Robertson. During the 06 draft they had Michigan spaceeater Gabe Watson sitting right there in the 3rd round and they take Schlegel instead. The jets cannot control the line of scrimmage on either side of the ball, and we get to watch DRob all year get knocked on his butt. I don't believe that Mangini will ever abandon his precious 3-4 defense, but why hasn't he done something the last 2 offseasons to rid us of the $60 milllion headache in Dwayne Robertson? Get someone who can control the line of scrimmage! Not to worry, they'll soon resign Robertson like they did Bryan Thomas (another $25million) to convince themselves that Dumbway made the right choice on both these guys. They have no pass rush last year either, so why did they resign Thomas ...isn't the rush supposed to come off the corner?

I agree about Robertson, I think this is a put up or shut up year for him. This could be his last year on this team if he doesn't improve. But to say Thomas was a waste is just plain stupid. He had a great season last year, he had 8.5 sacks. To judge a player on one game is just stupid.

He's actually in great shape he's just not right for the 3-4. If we cut or traded him the cap hit would be brutal. He's still best suited for a 4-3.

I love how "we could have had Gabe Watson." Was he even drafted?

Drob may not fit into the system well, but he's still a fairly good player, and he's definitely not slow

He had a nice knockdown of Brady and got some penetration. But I don't think it's overly negative to say he's underacheived given where he was picked and what we gave up to get him. He wasn't exactly amazing in our 4-3 either. I'd say he's likely a short timer here.

We gave up a lot for him. It's not overly negative at all to proclaim Robertson to be a bust up to this point.

This is my biggest beef with this team. Mangini wants to install a hybrid 3-4 when obviously we don't have the personell for it. I know the defense will show a lot of the 4-3 but it isn't a normal 4-3. This defense is supposed to be able to adjust on the fly and they can't do it.

Mangini needs to install a basic 4-3 on this D. The talent is there. He is trying to build the "ultimate defense" too quickly. Slow down and play to their strengths.

Bradway should be shot. Trading up for fat slob D-Rob is one of the biggest embarassments in NY Jets' Draft history. And that is saying a lot.

Oh, and why didn't we draft Jay Cutler or Matt Leinart (instead of D'Stiffashaw Ferguson), again ???
