I post this as we begin a new season and honestly, blind faith or not, I think we will on Sunday.

How do you guys take losing? For me it's not a prospect I can even begin to consider. With every new season for me hope springs eternal- it's what a Jet fan is all about. As we approach this game on Sunday against the Pats, a game I have been waiting for the longest time, I'm as excited as a very excitable boy with a very good reason for being excited. To lose.........

My wife is anxious already, my daughter( only 13) is trying to let me down gently about the impossible..."Dad, what if the Jets lose.....?"
My week is a high or a major low, (until Thursday) depending on a win or a lose. How to you guys take winning or losing?

I get pissed off when one of my team's loses, but I take it harder if I am actually playing a sport and my team loses. It's just a whole different feeling.

You may want to recalibrate your expectations. This Patriots team has more talent than any of their superbowl teams.

I love to win but when it comes to Jets football I don't get very upset about losses, I simply blame Chad.

when we lose I never have much interest in reading the sports section the next day. But when we win I can read the same article twice!!! Especially when the article has a picture of Brady sitting in the mud while wild green men celebrate all around him.

I drink when we win, and I drink when we lose. I'm pretty good natured about it either way, but I'm substantially happier after a win.

if it's windy and rainy, we're dead meat. noodle arm can't throw on a good day, never mind adding the wind factor. brady can and does throw in the wind. advantage pats.

then we'll have to rely on the running game to win. last years win was great, but i doubt we catch them off guard again. our oline needs time to gell, we don't have any at the moment. anvantage pats.

special teams are a great weapon for the jets, but the pats wasn't that bad either last year. slight advantage jets. unless we score three times on kick returns, our goose is cooked. reallity sucks!!!

I am the same fuckin miserable bastard I always am. if we lose I take it to the next level. I am unapproachable. If we win I am happy for like 2 hours, then I go back to being a prick

I'm upset for the rest of the day. Depending on the situation of the game. When we lost that Steeler game I was upset about a week.

It depends on what kinda loss it is. Take last year for example: losing to Indy at home wasn't as bad as getting our asses kicked in Jax, or losing to Chicago at home.

With all due respect WhiteShoeWillie, talent doesn't mean shit in this league. Predictions are only predictions for a reason. Think about how many people either picked New Orleans to win, beat the spread (+6), be in a shootout with Indy, and possibly have one of the most explosive offenses this year. It's speculation until kickoff.

As for the topic of the thread, it depends on the loss. I was young enough at the time that I had tears after the Marino fake spike, and the Pitt MPARTY mentioned left me sick for the summer any time I thought about it. It's like anything else, time (usually) heals all. But some are a lot worse than others.

PS - On the weather, it's gone from T Storms, to sprinkles, and today it's showing showers and clear. Come Sunday, expect the sun to be out for the majority of the game unless something drastically changes.

It's very easy to keep perspective when you've had as much success as the Pats have had as of late. Like the Yankees, you should get a good 10-15 year run of relative relaxation.

Fortunately for us, like the Yankees, all good things eventually come to an end.

I used to take it hard when they lost. Now, in the early fall games when the weather is still good I go sailing on my boat on Sunday afternoons and Tivo the game. They win, I watch (minus the ads and fillers), they lose I hit the delete button. I may not be considered the staunchest of fans, but as someone old enough to have begun watching them when they were the Titans, I've learned that it IS just a game. Also my blood pressure appreciates it.

That is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on here, especially considering the Pats have the best coach in the game.

    Losing Sucks!!!!!

When the Jets lose...the rest of my day is shot. I have trouble sleeping and am the biggest grump on Mondays.

The rest of the week is pretty shitty too..........
