Houston Texan Bound During Home Invasion

    POSTED: 8:49 am CDT September 4, 2007
    UPDATED: 11:09 am CDT September 4, 2007

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas -- A Houston Texans cornerback was bound with tape during a robbery at his home, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said two men broke into Dunta Robinson's home at about 8 p.m. Saturday.

The men got into the home through an unlocked door, officials said.

One of the men went into the living room and ordered Robinson to the ground at gunpoint, investigators said.

Detectives said the second man searched the house while the first man tied Robinson up with duct tape.

The men got away with several pieces of jewelry, officials said.

The first man was black, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts.

The second man was black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark gray sweatpants and a gray T-shirt.

Investigators said both men wore Los Angeles Dodgers caps and red bandanas that covered their faces.

The Houston Texans selected Robinson as the 10th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft and he was named Defensive Rookie of the Year by Pro Football Weekly magazine. He has started as right or left cornerback every game he has played in a Texans uniform.

Robinson played college football at the University of South Carolina, where he earned defensive most valuable player honors as a senior.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.

What the hell is it with robbing athletes these days?? Obviously it is a good way to ensure a score, but this still seems rather ballsy going after them. Some of these guys need to invest in a little better home security system as well. This guy just left the front door open for them. :breakdance:

This was the first thing I though. No alarm going off? If you have alot of $$ in your home in Jewelry and such, I'd want it protected.

    Leaving a door unlocked? Silly.

Did he completely miss the news reports about the NBA players having the same thing happen this summer? Seesh.

A world in which I have to lock my door when I am home is a world in which I don't want to live. Shit happens, especially when you're rich and famous. Give the guy a break, it's not like he left home with the place unsecured. He was at home!!! Terrible story.

    Once more...Insurance scam.

    Jewelry is only valuable to:

    1) Retail sellers
    2) Insurance companies
    3) Sentimental (legitimate owner) reasons

Try getting rid of a 10K rock…it’s like getting rid of a 10K baseball card. Completely farcical value…only worth a dime to someone who wants it.
