August 29, 2007 Jets eye Hawkins By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff The New York Jets hosted former Patriots defensive back Artrell Hawkins on a visit at their team headquarters this week. Hawkins, 30, played in 19 games with 16 starts for the Patriots over the last two seasons. When he joined the Patriots in the middle of the 2005 season, current Jets head coach Eric Mangini was New England's defensive coordinator. The Patriots released Hawkins on Aug. 18. He had been battling an undisclosed injury and had been held out of practice since Aug. 8. "I still love the game and I'm not quite ready to call it quits just yet," Hawkins told the Boston Globe upon his release. No argument here.. Bottom line is that it doesn't really matter.. Whether they came from the Jets or Chargers.. Look at the end result... That was a cool parade to go to.. You should of been there..
