um no offense but what does that have to do with anything? did leon fumble the ball twice? did they return his fumbles for 2 TDs? did he look slow? did he look like he couldn't hit the hole? lame argument, IMO.
Exactamundo. I added this to my post on The QB Gap Narrows: After throwing a TD pass to Leon Washington on the first play from scrimmage against the Gnats, Pennington failed to move the team to any first downs the rest of the half. Clemens once again was able to move the offense, due to the herculean effort of his teammates, who were able to get the best of the gnats' second team defense, causing speculation that Joe Villani could replace Nick Mangold at center, since the OL fared much better while he was snapping the ball. .
You are all the dubious members of the 10% The fact that this many people were fooled tells me that we need to step up our knowledge here
By that logic Bender should start at LG even if the LG on the second unit was playing really well, after all Bender only sucked against first string players. That's the problem, Chad has sucked and Clemens has not only played well he has a better arm, quicker release and he opens the field up. It isn't logical to think that just because someone is lighting it up against second team competition doesn't mean they aren't first string capable. What is much more logical is if someone is consistently sucking against first string competition they should be moved back.
What is logical is that football is a team game and the team surrounding Pennington, especially the OL, has sucked more than anything and without an OL, EVERY QB looks bad. I am as happy as anyone about Clemens and hope he is the real deal. But if Clemens played the first half, with the lack of running game, the complete break down in pass protection, the horrible field position, and the defense failing to get off the field, the score would have been 12-7.
I guess a quick release never beat a blitz. You should think about another user name. Namath would have eatin the Giant blitz alive.
Fooled how? For all we know he could be just another Pennington fanatic who can't take it that "his" guy is struggling right now.
For one thing, you could have read the post I made halfway down the first page of this thread, where I said: "I havent changed my position at all: I stick with whoever this HC names as the QB. I still think he and Shotty are in a better position than I am to make that decision. Whoever they name, I support, and if they make a change, I support it. That is all." ----------------------------- But even so, now you know I can be one sarcastic/satirical/facetious bastid. It's all good though.
