You are crazy man, dont you know it takes more then 1 season to be a good LT in this league.

Easy to say all of this now... Fixing the oline was #1 priority at the time and I was all for Brick and Mangold. In fact, I wanted to go with a Guard in the first round this year too.

I thought the FO did pretty good job with 06 draft. But if you want to complain about it, focus on round 3--Shlegel in the middle of round 3 was a terrible pick--we could have a good OG or DL--Eric Smith would also have been there in round 5.

Yes, me too. I like Revis, but Justin Blalock would've completed this team and solidified the line for years.

it was easy to say then too. you don't pass up the chance at a franchise qb when you dont have one, especially for a LT that can't run block..

That's true. It doesn't mean that Cutler will will a playoff game before Clemens does though. Everybody was a country mile ahead of Tom Brady at the beginning of the 2001 season.

I'd rather have Clemens for the 53 right now than Cutler for the 13. I'd take Vince Young over the two of them together.

He's a slightly better version of Ryan Leaf... that's my opinion. I could be dead wrong, but I thought that when he was in college.. He has the arm, no question... but he just doesn't seem able to run the offense... He has flashes, I'll admit, but then he has flashes of Browning Nagle too :)

I'm still pissed we took brick at 4, was against it before the draft, have hated it since.

Hey guys, jsut a thought but maybe D'brick has more talent then Mcneil, you just cant see it yet. I bet D'brick would be doing better in SD just like Mcneil, anyone blocking for Rivers and LT is gunna look good.

I agree with the original poster, not so much for the opinion that Cutler is a lot better than Clemens. I think Cutler is #1 from this draft while Clemens will be #2.

I just think that Cutler, and McNeil is better than Clemens and Brick. McNeill is already a good distance better than Brick and what makes anyone think that will change?

Cutler is smart, accurate and has a top 5 arm in the NFL. Now am I saying its stupid to say hell be a bust? No, but to say hes slightly better version of Ryan Leaf is a little extreme

Jets couldn't afford drafting and signing a first-round quarterback in 2006. We were - and still are- paying Chad franchise money. Again, franchise money. Look how difficult it's become for the Raiders to sign Russell. How about signing Leinart/Cutler with Penny still on the roster. We were at No.4 in the wrong year. We hit one over the fences with Mangold, so that was good. He's a 10-14 year guy in the making, help permitting.

Jets traded down and drafted the QB they reportedly wanted all along in Clemens. For their efforts, they picked up a second round pick I believe they used to nab Thomas Jones, no? Didn't we need a RB once Curtis retired?

Actually, they are waiting for Chad to become the next Phil Simms.

not really its the lines job to make a RB look better. (denver is and KC was a prime example) where have you been. playing for someone like LT is just more motivating as a lineman.

brick cant run block to save his life. and even his great footwork cant save him from the fact he gets abused at the point of attack.

im not calling him a bust yet cuz it takes time and it certainly will for someone whos got more technique than physical talent.

we'll see, but I was never a HUGE fan of drafting him. but I do understand the logic behind it.
